You are correct, which is why we cannot allow the religious fanatics of ANY religion to degrade our secular government. It is the right that has problems accepting this truth.

The only one playing games here, Steve, is you.

At this point, no one knows what is going to happen as Israel begins its ground operations. Anyone who does is fooling themselves.

Should there be refugees at some future point, we will deal with it then, but no, I don't fear Palestinians right off the bat like you are demonstrating. So much for that Christian hospitality, the right is always claiming.

I think they are hoping pressure from the rest of the Arab and Western country's pressure woud force them too. It gives them an out on it if Eygpt denies them temporary refugee status.

Neither does anyone else it seems not even Iran but Eygpt is the next country where people are required to seek asylum under international law.

I’m not religious so your jab at me fell short. But if you want Christian hospitality, then may I suggest Europe which is much closer? Right now Europe is being flooded with Muslims and all the associated problems they bring like rapes, gangs and bombs. Are there any African countries that have the kind of hospitality you speak of? How about Asian countries?

And yet it is the left that wants to import religious fanatics. As though we don't have enough of our own.

They are not morons, they are evil and they hate us. They see us as their enemy and this is their way of attacking us. Cut through all the bullshit and hand waving and we are going to be taking in thousands of Palestinians. That was going to happen the instant Palestinians attacked Israel. Every crisis is an opportunity for them to attack and weaken us.

What a brilliant idea. While we're at it, why not give them a map showing all the Synagogues and gun free zones.

We don’t follow that, why should Egypt have to?
Israel is occupying Palestinian land, according to international law.

They are a security risk. It would be immoral to take them and put our citizens at risk.

What do you mean we don't follow that? It is international law concerning refugees and asylum seekers. Why shouldn't Egypt have to? And nope Israel gave Gaza to the Palestinian's and we see the results. Every country has a right to self defense.

Does the law for refugees apply to Israel? How many have they taken in?

There isn't a single source out there that isn't biased. The smart thing to do is to read from all types of sources and you'll generally find the truth somewhere in the middle. Only hyper-partisans who couldn't tell their butt crack from a hole in the ground get their info from only one type of source.

As ever, the #1 threat to Americans is their fellow Americans, not immigrants or refugees from abroad.

But there is nothing that the (R)adical charlatans on Capitol Hill can do to pretend to deal with that, so they'll just keep pandering to their xenophobic constituency and picking on foreigners instead.

Pure Kool Aid drinking here. Yep, conservative White males, concerned parents and conservative Catholics are the biggest threat to the country.

That would be quite true if you are Progressive Democrat who is seeking to be elected or re-elected. Their political career will not bode well if those groups turn out in droves to vote against them. If too many of them vote, stuffing the ballot box to get Democrats elected poses greater problems.

More curious to why Egypt and Jordan are refusing to take any refugees? Both Jordan and Egypt have a history with Palestinian refugees and there appears to be a substantial trust issue here.

How typical, putting words into my mouth and engaging in the straw man fallacy, and then proceeding to try to make the argument about something (or really, somebody) else entirely.

Keep on drinking the Kool Aid. The biggest straw man we have is in the Whitehouse. He makes the scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz look brilliant.

If there are Americans who pose threats to other Americans, it’s coming from the colleges and universities. The anti-Semitic tone of the demonstrations on those institutions is chilling. The KKK couldn’t have done any better.
