It's really obnoxious how this is supposed to be the humor forum but people still use it as a way to argue politics. Anyway yeah, people who deny the fact that humans have adversely affected the environment are delusional, and yeah, some of those were pretty funny.

While I agree with you, you do know that this is a political forum right? Humor can be suspended at a moments notice if it suits an agenda.

 

Other studies have shown that the ammount of UV given out can be quite variable, even between different bulbs of the same brand in the same package. CFL bulbs also give off higher levels of UV as they age. Typically the CFLs being tested in a lab are new.

I can tell you from my experience that CFLs cause my skin to feel sore after around 20 minutes, while I can be out for an hour in direct sunlight before I feel anything. So CFLs are obviously more problematic. Some people spend long periods of time under artificial lighting. Even if the UV levels where half that of sunlight, it would still be a great concern. It is not a good idea to be out in direct sunlight for more than a few hours each day. Are people going to have to worry about sunburn in their own homes? Some individuals are more sensitive than others.

People that support CFL bulbs are idiots. Not everyone dutifully takes their bulbs to a recycling center for proper disposal and this is something that needs to be taken into consideration. So now we have the potential for contaminated soil and water because a bunch of dumbass hyper spastic environmentalists didn't pay attention to chemistry in school. Environmentalists were also the first ones to push for ethanol which they now have admitted they were wrong on, but guess what, we are stuck with it in perpetuity. Environmentalists really need to shut the (*)(*)(*)(*) up and go home because at this point they are doing more harm than good. And for crying out loud if you are a environmentalist then attend at least a few chem and physics courses at your local college........it will be an eye opener for you.
