How many Jews died in the gas chambers?

friends of my father were officers in the third army who liberated some of the camps. they saw stacks of bodies, thousands. Millions were killed. what is the goal of those who try to argue that the Nazis didn't use Zyklon B on Jews, homosexuals, Gypsies and others what happened to all those Jews -the millions who died during the war?

I won't speculate on their motives. Some might even be honest and just gullible. My grandfather survived one of those camps. I have been debating these guys for years. Regardless, the historical facts are obvious to all who bother to do a sliver of research. What we have are the usual conspiracy theorist types. I'd wager most of them are also flat earthers.

I don't know for a fact that it's totally accurate or not, but the first website listed below indicates that of the 17 million people who were systematically executed by the Nazis, approximately 6 million of them were, indeed, Jews.

Bear in mind, however, that the timeframe indicated is from when Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1933, all the way to the end of WWII in 1945. The actual "Holocaust" and extermination camps weren't really in "business" until AFTER the Wannsee Conference in January 1942 (second link shown below)

One of them recounted a case where a younger officer-I believe a Lt, took a pistol and shot 3-4 Nazi officers who surrendered near Buchenwald and several men under him finished them off and shot some other guards. Another noted that he witnessed a paratrooper carrying an M3 SMG handed his weapon to an English speaking prisoner who then shot to sadistic guards. I suspect a lot of street justice took place when those camps were liberated. BTW in Japan, Greg Pappy Boyington, MOH recipient, testified in FAVOR of a harsh samurai guard at the prison camp where Boyington was housed because when the nukes were dropped, Japanese civilians wanted to kill the American prisoners and this Japanese soldier-who was assigned to guard the prisoners threatened to kill any citizen who tried to harm his prisoners.

The only positive thing my father (who's brother was KIA over Okinawa) could say about the Nazis was that American POWs were treated better by the Germans than by the Japanese (1-2% of American POWs held by the Nazis died in captivity while it was over 30% under Japanese captivity)

I suspect i have a far better education on WWII history than you do. I also don't have a desire to try to sugar coat the Nazi horrors. I went to a University where there was a large number of Jewish students who had family members who had experienced the holocaust.

 

I've spent more time researching the Holocaust than you have and have debated Holocaust deniers here . . . probably more so than anyone else on the forum. Spare me.

The only reason I can come up with is that you haven't thought about or read enough to even begin to answer the question. You don't know the answer. It take far less time to do 2 clicks than type another empty response to my post.

No idea . . . well . . . maybe *some* idea. It's a gateway drug into outright Holocaust denialism. Which, even then, tends to take the form of the "just asking questions" denialism. You start by questioning the gas chambers, then questioning the "real numbers," and it spirals from there, unfortunately. And, to be honest, I've fallen down conspiracy theory rabbit holes of my own and I don't think most of them have a nefarious intent. Still, this can be a particularly nefarious conspiracy theory even for those who come in with honest intent.

 

I don't know the answer. I know a rough estimate of how many Jews died under the fascists that you are talking about, but I don't have a breakdown of the methodology of their murderous activities.
