    They need someone to tell them what to think. Politician, journalist, AI, it’s all good if it keeps them from having to actually think something through for themselves.

    so tell us -where to draw the line in terms of fundamental constitutional rights

    adjudicated mentally incompetent works for me since it meets procedural and substantive due process grounds

    If he had his way he would attach a stigma to any treatment at all that's discouraging anyone interested in retaining their rights from seeking any sort of care treatment for a mental issue

    and here is the problem with that-
    we want people to seek mental health care when they need it. When my late mother in law (who I dearly loved) died from brain cancer-my wife sought some help for depression. Now, the gun banners would tell you that should have prevented her from perhaps ever being able to buy a gun even though she was never adjudicated mentally incompetent-she merely had a six week period of minor depression. But she certainly was aware enough to know that if merely seeing her doctor would have disqualified her from owning a gun, she never would have sought help. So what these gun banners are guaranteeing is this if they have their nefarious schemes adopted: people with minor league mental issues won't seek help and in some cases, that means they will become dangerous due to the progression of a mental disease

    gun banners tend to ignore other concerns such as why we have doctor/patient privileges and the Privacy Act. Their malignant hatred against gun owners-mainly due to their leftwing political agenda-clouds their ability to understand that their schemes are far more likely to cause serious harm than do anything useful to society (banning lots of people from owning guns is not useful)

    It's a red flag law. No one is saying 'you can't have a gun by looking at them'.

    It just tips off the FBI who is on psyche meds on the tax payer dime, so they can be monitored to make sure they aren't acting suicidal, or making crazy posts on FACEBOOK that suggests they are about do go berserk. .

    But, we get it, you don't mind if crazy people have guns.

    Next time a crazy guy shoots someone, we will know who to thank.

    the real gut buster is watching the left spew hatred at gun owners yet they are loathe to actually crack down on real criminals. This is yet more evidence that gun ownership and supporting gun ownership is what they really hate-not violent criminals

    They want a society of disarmed victims where only the cops and criminals have weapons.

    It's an extremely authoritarian mindset to support something that would be common in a fascist Nation.

    why bother when that would be akin to hunting mice with a howitzer. The fact is I forget more about this issue than you anti gun types will ever know and the anti gun arguments of the left are so patently fraudulent it is hilarious. Pretending that public safety is the goal of the desired gun bans is obviously a facade

    seems to be SOP with your writings but can you rebut my assertion that every anti gun advocate on this board is a left winger and that suggests that anti gun positions are political-rather than being poorly informed but honest attempts to reduce violent crime

    You do realize that taking guns away from citizens is very common in fascist Nations right? I know that's a boogie man word you like to throw around very often here about the USA. But banning guns is an actual example of real fascist rule
