Trump was convicted of election fraud? If you mean PROSECUTED, I'll be happy to address the issue clearly: YES. Trump is being indicted of a crime in which he was stopped before anybody suffered a loss. Just like people who attempt to rob a bank or assassinate somebody and are stopped before anybody suffers a loss are indicted all the time. What part are you not understanding? Don't answer that. I think that absurd argument is addressed completely in the above paragraph. If you have any other question, look up THE LAW. I am not going to do your research for you.
I agree 100%! If Biden had ever been involved in any perversion, I am SURE we would have known it by now. And that there would definitely be video. Who would pass up the opportunity to tape him?
Yes you did! You said "Not surprising that you still believe the pee tape, lol..." That sentence would not make sense unless you are saying that it exists. It hadn't occurred to me. Should I be ashamed of believing what you say?
It goes back to this comment by me: "Would you care to discuss the democrat's efforts to keep Trump from being president. The latest effort from New York state is far worse than anything that Trump actually did." What is ambiguous about that? New York convicted Trump of a crime where there was no victim and no one got hurt and the banks made money. They fined him for a ridiculous amount of money. In addition, they have never convicted anyone else of a similar crime. Explain how that is justified.
No reasonable person would in any way think my post meant I believe the pee tape exists. Somebody is flailing! But I'm not here to talk you out of your beliefs. I enjoy hearing the left justify their conspiracy theories. Please continue.
Trump was not convicted of a crime. He was found liable for having committed an act that IS a crime. Keep that sentiment in mind when he IS convicted of a crime.
Any reasonable person would know you phrased that as a very lame "trap" And, in the end, you were the only one who got caught in it. BTW, as for the pee-tape... who knows if it exists. Everything in the Steele Dossier that CAN be verified HAS been verified. The rest simply hasn't been confirmed... YET. But, so far, Steele's batting average seems to have been pretty good. If the tendency keeps up, it just doesn't look good for Trump's legacy to History. Looking forward to what more will be revealed when Putin is out of power.
I appreciate your time with this response. I don't agree with a lot of it, but there are some points that we may agree upon. Take for example this phrase, political elites. I think possibly you & I have danced on who these are before, but I may be thinking of someone else. In fact I'm leaning toward it having been someone else, but since it was such a brief point of dialog, I'm not able to construct enough context to remember who exactly it was I traded posts with about this. As best I recall, the other member responded with something along the lines of identifying such folks as members of the media or academia, without a word about the most influential political elites in the US, the elected members of the US Senate. These are clearly and easily the most politically elite members of the US, pretty much by definition. However, I would very much be interested in being proven wrong on this view. Do you disagree? And if so, what arguments should I consider?
I've seen that specious argument before. It's nothing more than a talking point. There is more at stake in the upcoming election than the usual policy differences. You'd know that if you were paying attention to what Trump did as prez and what he promises to do if he's re-elected. Your description of his plot to end the constitutional order by installing himself as prez against the will of the voters as "one man unreasonably trying to hold the office" exemplifies the lack of seriousness with which you view his premeditated actions. Ones much more far reaching than the events of 1/6.
American Autocracy Threat Tracker Former President Donald Trump has said he will be a dictator on “day one.” He and his advisors and associates have publicly discussed hundreds of actions to be taken during a second Trump presidency that directly threaten democracy. These vary from Trump breaking the law and abusing power in areas like immigration roundups and energy extraction; to summarily and baselessly firing tens of thousands of civil servants whom he perceives as adversaries; to prosecuting his political opponents for personal gain and even hinting at executing some of them. We track all of these promises, plans, and pronouncements here and we will continue to update them in real time. We assess there is a significant risk of autocracy should Trump regain the presidency. Trump has said he would deploy the military against civilian protestors and his advisors have developed plans for using the Insurrection Act, said he would invoke the Alien Enemies Act to conduct deportations of non-citizens, continued to threaten legally-established abortion rights, and even had his lawyers argue that a president should be immune from prosecution if he directed SEAL Team Six to assassinate his political enemies. Trump also seeks the power to protect his personal wealth as he faces staggering civil fines, and to bolster his immunity as he faces 91 criminal charges in prosecutions in different parts of the country. https://www.justsecurity.org/92714/american-autocracy-threat-tracker/ This is going to be a great resource.

There are people who want to bend the conservative movement away from Trumpism. It will happen in due course.
Unfortunately before that happens we will see a meltdown in the existing conservative movement. And it will take time - minimum 5 years
