I finally got a vaccination--big mistake.

I had resisted getting vaccinated, but since I'm having to have dialysis now I decided to get the shots because that is the only way I can avoid wearing a mask during my three times a week, three and a half hour treatment.


Big mistake. First the pain it caused to my arm was a hundred times worse than any shot I've ever had. Hard, bone deep pain.


But then today the effects of the vaccine wrecked my blood pressure and made my dialysis agonizingly painful. To the point that they had to pull me off the machine 20 minutes early today. It was absolute utter agony. I should've just stuck with wearing the damned mask.


One more reason for me to hate everyone remotely involved with the Covid-19 healthcare crisis. Trump, Biden, everyone.


It just makes me believe I was right to begin with We should've just sucked it up, willingly suffered the deaths and been done with it. (and I had family members die of Covid-19)

 

I am so sorry to hear of your side-effects. Several posters here described similar type arm pains but said it went away after a few days. How long ago did you get the vaccine? Was this after the first or second jab?

Did they give you an alternative dialysis schedule?

 

Yesterday, first shot. next one in four weeks.

They basically told me to suck it up.

 

Hopefully, it will dissipate over the next several days. I have been paying attention to these kind of things because I'm still undecided and I haven't heard anyone say the arm pain lasted. Did you try to alternate heat and ice on it?

sounds like the nurse moved the needle while it was in your arm, that sucks

they should teach nurses on jello, put a needle in jello, and move it all around and see the damage it does by cutting in half

my nurse, straight in, straight out, very little pain afterwards - I did not flex my arm during or move either, stay relaxed, I have had bad nurses in past when getting flu shot too, it sucks

usually the ones that screw up do it when reaching for the band-aid, they leave the needle in and move it

 

My arm hurt for less than a day, and really only when I moved it a certain way.
I felt flush a couple times, but did not get a fever or have other effects, as the vaccine did its thing.

Eric Clapton thought he would never be able to play again after the shot. They told him it was safe but if you delve deeper into what is being said by actual virologists you should be wary of getting the shot.

 

I've had my first injection of Astra Zeneca. I have no pain or complications at all.

 

I hope everyone realizes that getting the shot means you are in phase 3 of human clinical trials which has never been done since modern medicine was developed.

I got the Moderna one twice. The first shot made my arm sore. I didn't really notice it except when I tried to sleep on my side on the arm that I got my shot in. That went away in a night or two. I didn't notice anything after the second shot.

Personally, I would take the Covid-19 vaccine again, if I had the choice. In fact, I would have taken it again even if I suffered anaphylaxis, which I didn't.

Come now, isn't a little pain worth it to not die? No one said the Covid death would be less agonizing than the shot.

Not if it makes you more susceptible to dying down the road. Notice the new announcement by Moderna that you may need to take the shot again in September. One virologist says you may need to get it every 6 months for the rest of your life or suffer the consequences. A Nobel Prize winning virologist (HIV) says that getting the shot will cause the virus to mutate to possibly a worse variant. One reason that would be is that these novel treatments only target one of the virus proteins where natural immunity if you caught it targets much more. That virologist says you are better protected if you caught the virus. If you are in your 60s your survival rate is 98.5%, in your 50's 99.5% and below that over 99.9%.

 

People experience pain in different ways. What's tolerable for you may be intolerable to someone else.

I would probably not schedule a dialysis the day after the next shot, many take the next day off work even just in case not feeling up to par - hope all goes well

 

I got both the Pfizer Vaccines (thank you President Trump) and neither hurt.

 

I would guess that the more of us that are vaccinated, doctors report we can't get the virus nor pass it to others

The routine vaccine was developed taking up to 10 years. Trump slashed the time to 9 months. Biden can brag he got the Trump vaccine.

I always said the way to get Trump supporters to take the vaccine is to tell them Trump created it

that said, I took Pfizer too, two shots, no pain, other family members took Moderna and were fine too

 

I heard that Moderna is also working on an HIV vaccine. They seem to have a process to create vaccines for difficult diseases. We seem to have reached a turning point in medical research.
