I only shot it one time and it felt accurate and light recoil
It was a gun I could handle . I even hit my targets

shotgun - no way ..too much recoil
    Pistol - I can’t shoot a .40

    My questions ???
Does this gun jam very rarely
I don’t know how the hell to store it in my apartment ???
I have a good feeling they may ban it ..so maybe I need 2. Money is no prob
I need a training course and VEGAS will have them
    Any ideas
I know very little about guns ..I have no clue how to clean it
    I don’t like pistols

You can buy a good stripped lower for $100 or less. You can decide in the future what you want to build with it and since it qualifies as "the gun" it's grandfathered in.

    I'm considering an AR pistol.

I stink at pistols and don’t like big recoil
This AR pistol looks bigger ?
Which is better for home defense
    I don’t do conceal weapons

    What I need

    1) does not jam or rarely
    2) low recoil
    3) not too big as I am in apart
    4) accurate and big clips
    5) easy to clean

    home defense only

I train in some mma classes - so I feel I can hand fight with anyone and win along as the person is not a trained fighter

There are a great many questions present, in a manner that suggests rambling thoughts. To address all of them in a factual manner is difficult. But the first question is more easily addressed.

The AR-15 series of rifle is produced by nearly every firearms manufacturer in the united states, each to varying degrees of quality and/or reliability. The AR-15 rifle of some manufacturers will jam and malfunction to a greater degree than the AR-15 rifle of other manufacturers. The only way to know for certain which is reliable enough is to do extensive research on the various types available.

give some more thought to what type of gun you want. Example: if you live in an apartment and are defending yourself with an AR-15 against an intruder you want to hope that missed shot that went thru your apartment wall didn't kill your neighbor. A stainless steel pump shotgun will cover a larger area with each shot helping to eliminate a missed shot. As far as reliability goes, you can load it and put it in the back of your closet and literally forget about it if you wish. A pistol or any automatic weapon requires more care.

Factually incorrect. It has been proven that the ammunition utilized in the AR-15, specifically the most common caliber, has less penetration capability through common sheetrock than either handgun or shotgun ammunition, due to its much greater speed, and much lower mass. It is far more likely to fragment upon impact than any other type of ammunition commonly used for defensive purposes.

Usage of shotgun ammunition also does not do anything to compensate for poor accuracy on the part of the individual. Every pellet that is discharged must be accounted for in a court of law if someone is injured. Eight out of nine pellets hitting the intended target is of little importance if the ninth pellet strikes an innocent bystander.

At across the apartment distance, a shotgun doesn’t have much of a pattern.

First of all, it would be beneficial to learn the difference between "clips" and "magazines". A magazine is an easily removable metal or polymer "box" in which the ammunition is stored as is the case with the AR-15.
Clips are smaller devices to which ammunition is fastened.

Re:"big clips", In my opinion, magazines that hold more than 20 or 30 rounds are too cumbersome especially when firing from the prone position.

While there are many well made AR-15s and AR-15 variants, Smith & Wesson makes a very good entry level* AR-15 for about $600- that will easily fill all your requirements. (M&P15)

    * "entry level" usually means a basic, high quality, no-frills, and affordable firearm for a first AR or beginner.

If this is your concern, get one in 9/10mm, 40 or 45ACP.

Looking for something that rarely jams? That would be a revolver.
What do you consider low recoil? Or more specifically what do you consider to be too much recoil? Tolerance regarding recoil can be different depending on each person.
Accuracy has more to do with the person shooting the gun. Practice, practice, practice

I've got a Daisy BB gun; there is literally no recoil at all and it's a very handy gun to have on hand. Easy to hit your targets from 10 meters as well.

You're going to get a myriad of opinions on this obviously but here are some things to consider when considering your home defense firearm.

Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun. It sounds like you may not have much experience with firearms so you should think about the real world situation where you may need to use your weapon. You will be more accurate with a rifle than a pistol every time, especially when woken up in the middle of the night in the dark with your adrenaline pumping. You're leaning towards the AR-15 which is good.

You live in an apartment so you must consider wall penetration. Here is where you are going to get the varying opinions. There are facts and there are opinions touted as facts regarding caliber, velocity, and penetration. I won't get into that discussion because it'll simply lead to pages or arguments from various gun owners believing themselves "right". Just understand that in regards to accidentally penetrating your walls and shooting your neighbor the 5.56 (standard AR round) has no more or less ability to do that than anything else. (It does and it doesn't but not enough to where it matters much in this decision).

We could post up graphs and ballistics studies and whatnot that will lead to a multi page war about firearm calibers. But just don't get into the mindset of believing that the high velocity 5.56 automatically equals greater penetration over a 9mm pistol or anything because that's not how guns work.

Also keep in mind that guns are LOUD and the AR-15 is a pretty loud firearm in close quarters. Getting yourself disoriented by damaging your eardrums after a few rounds is something you also need to think about. Real life isn't like the movies, you fire off rounds indoors without earplugs regardless of caliber and you're going to feel it after about 3.

If you can;t shoot 40/45 from an AR, you can't shoot 5.56.

Because an alarm can stop an intruder who is willing to kill your dog?

Intruders don't tend to hang out in the home they have entered illegally where ear piercing alarms are going off.

Do you know what precisely his security concern is? Either I did not catch it, or he did not provide.

For most folks, those two forms of general security will more than suffice.
