What it says is "The new emergency authority could be activated if border “encounters” reach a daily average of 4,000 over a period of seven days and would become mandatory once border encounters reach over 5,000."

It still doesn't allow any illegals. It simply defines an emergency and when it hits that number, it forces the government to act. Right now, there is no limit on the number of encounters. Right now, the government never has to act, as you can see from Biden's no action policy. Somehow, the MAGAs, ultra conservatives, whatever you want to call them, think that no action is better than some action. They think that pie in the sky principals that do nothing is better than some action that doesn't fix everything.

 

If the new immigration phase allows immigrants to fly directly from their country into an airport
they choose from a list, then the number at the border might remain under 4,000 a day with that
system in place and the Democrats will still be able to wreck the US before the mid-winter celebration.

And I'm curious if "border encounters" includes people who surrender themselves at a point of entry . . . which is likely does . . . and is completely legal.

 

So . . . they would be coming to a port of entry . . . and applying for their status . . . which is entirely legal. I've noticed the more that the far right pulls their hair out over immigration, the less they know about it.
