We have vaccine resistant strains of the virus. The existing vaccines appear to have some therapeutic benefit. Why bother? If they develop a better vaccine that works on these strains then more vaccination makes sense.

There are several valid reasons, including but most certainly not limited to:

1) The hurried nature of the vaccine development
2) The not-fully-tested nature of the vaccine
3) The many reports of the vaccine's side effects being worse than just getting COVID
4) The belief many have that they already had COVID and are already immune
5) The belief many have that they are free individuals (with individual rights and liberties endowed by their Creator) and can make their own healthcare decisions. (In leftist lingo, "my body my choice")
6) The fact that pretty much everything that the media has banged the drums on regarding COVID has been blatant lies/manipulations/misinformation.
7) Because COVID is a scam and nobody has died from it; no vaccine is needed.

 

The "hurried nature" is mostly abject BS. The mRNA vaccine methodology is a significant improvement that has been in development for a long time. It just happened to be available at a time when SARS hit. The "emergency use" direction came after many months of serious testing that was monumentally successful.

Your 3 is nonsense. First, serious side effects are EXTREMELY rare when compared to the risk of COVID. Second, the VAERS database and others in other countries are constantly being analyzed to find issues. You can not cite statistical evidence that there are ramifications that invalidate the importance of vaccination.

Immunity derived from having had COVID is NOT NEARLY as good as vaccine based immunity as medical science in several countries has pointed out clearly. Plus, getting COVID is a really bad way of gaining immunity.

Failing to be vaccinated makes you a risk to others. Our country has huge bodies of law related to requiring behavior that doesn't risk others - drunk driving, etc., etc.

I've been vaccinated against the viruses which I can come in contact with. That has included some that most don't get, due to travel to certain regions.

I'm vaccinated against all pandemics I could reasonably be expected to be exposed to, as per recommendations of science based medicine.

I’m very familiar with that study. It was not designed to nor does it compare natural immunity to vaccine induced immunity. All subjects in that study had natural infection immunity. It compared previously infected individuals that did not get vaccinated after recovery with previously infected individuals that were later vaccinated.
