Anything an American politician says is meant for the domestic audience, so he won't. I figured that one out, when I couldn't understand why Obama and Kerry always sounded so stupid when compared to Putin and Lavrov.

It’s very odd that you would be supportive of such an oppressive regime. A real head scratcher.

Not patronizing, and Iran has their agents throughout the ME, and like I said supports Hezbollah, Hamas, etc, etc.

Right...I also read a publication "Full Spectrum Dominance", egypt, libya, Tunisia, Syria, Iran are all mentioned and earmarked for dismantling, according to Gen. Wesley Clark:).

Clark is a flake. Lots of people write lots of contingency plans. Not particularly meaningful.

Clark is a strange guy, for sure. And I'm sure he was stirring the pot to some extent, for personal reasons I imagine, but the list did seem uncannily accurate didn't it.

You completely missed the reality. Saudis have had easy access to US visas since 1950 because so many have been educated in the US. Pakistanis, Kuwaities, Yemenis etc have a long, hard road to getting a US visa. So fake identity and over staying your Haj visa was a natural way to go.. 6 of the hijackers had false identities or stolen papers.

You missed the reality again. Saudis RARELY immigrate. They go to school and then go home. Assumptions are a poor substitute for FACTS.

They were popular uprisings by the people. Gaddafi, Assad were/are no saints.

Here’s the problem with patronizing Americans always pointing the finger, and never accepting any personal responsibility.

The United States has at various times in recent history provided support to terrorist and paramilitaryorganizations around the world. It has also provided assistance to numerous authoritarian regimes that have used state terrorism as a tool of repression.[1][2]

United States support for non-state terrorists has been prominent in Latin America, the Middle-East, and Southern Africa.[1] From 1981 to 1991, the United States provided weapons, training, and extensive financial and logistical support to the Contra rebels in Nicaragua, who used terror tactics in their fight against the Nicaraguan government.[3] At various points the United States also provided training, arms, and funds to terrorists among the Cuban exiles, such as Orlando Bosch and Luis Posada Carriles.

    Thanks for your opinion.
I doubt the former very much - but agree with the latter very much too.

Both Gadaffi and Assad were friends of the West when it suited us. We generally have a terrible track record of overlooking the very worst tyrants if they're allies, and then kill them when they are no longer.

Gaddafi was an illiterate Bedouin and a bad actor from 1969 forward. Periodically he would pretend to clean up his act, but he never did.

Perhaps his greatest mistake as he WAS cleaning up his act was surrendering his nuclear program during the Bush administration as the following administration wasted no time in going in and killing him. Iran and North Korea didn’t miss that USFP lesson.

That was 2003.. The civil war broke in Feb 2011. Don't try to reinvent Gaddafi unless you have followed his career since he threw out the Libyan constitution and hired Abdullah Tariki.

Gaddafi isn’t being reinvented, nor is he being painted as a good guy. But there isn’t a government on this planet that wouldn’t defend itself from civilian uprisings. Not one. He did voluntarily surrender his nuclear program and as I said, it didn’t go unnoticed in Iran and North Korea.

Well Right now the eyes are on Iran. Not the US.

Lindsey Graham: Iran Protests Highlight Obama's Failure
    ......

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) appeared on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday and told host Major Garrett that if he were President Donald J. Trump, he would do the opposite of what President Barack Obama did in Iran. Many critics say the 44th president failed to show adequate support for anti-government protesters in 2009, which only emboldened the theocratic state to increase its brutal regime and control over its people.

Lindsey Graham, a one time 2016 GOP presidential rival of Trump, lambasted Barack Obama as an abject failure for his appeasement of the Islamic Republic rather then standing up for its protesters yearning for freedom. The South Carolina Senator showed support for the current protesters saying “The Iranian people are not our enemy. The Ayatollah is the enemy of the world.”

Graham's words come as protests in Iran escalate. The Iranian government has cut off internet access, killed two protesters, threatened crack downs on what they deem "illegal protests," and arrested at least 50.....snip~

:banana:Yep, America should support another ME regime change. After all, the previous four have produced such beneficial results for the region.
