Yes. I'm still amazed at people who don't see this. I was watching C-Span last week and they had the Harvard Economist Roland Fryer as guest. Someone called to discuss the breakdown of the black family unit, the fact that so many black kids these days are raised by single mothers, and what to do about it. He denied that was true. What the what? Keep in mind this guy is an Economist at Harvard and doesn't know even the simplest statistics of black Americans. Denying the truth is not going to help black Americans. One big problem is that the US government has replaced the father in the black family. The very people who want to be "compassionate" and "do the right thing towards" blacks are destroying the black community. These people should be ashamed of themselves.

If 50% of half way educated people on this forum posted they feel there is a problem, then maybe it's worth looking into? Color of skin has nothing to do with crime, but is a common identifier to point out crime within a culture. Only bleeding hearts will use the word black to cry racist as a tool to discredit the subject matter which I agree, only hinders the ability to find a solution. Maybe people should attack the black culture instead as a way to make it harder to be labeled racist. With all the minority public servants, black history month and bad parenting, it's hard for a minority to not want to lash out and discriminate or commit hate crime with what is fed to him by the public, peers and bad parenting. Also, take into consideration that in the black community, it's not cool to act white or be intelligent. I heard of one study group look into this and it's true. Black kids may fear isolation from the only peers they feel comfortible with. That means saging pants, slang and doing what your group does and continuing the cycle. The reason why I believe this creates a bad culture is because I've met a lot of black people in other western countries besides USA and their crime rates aren't nearly as bad as the US. So I think it's more culture than color.
Yeah, and throw in their exposure to our secular 'multi cultures' and white guilt displayed by liberals in our society and one can see how confused these people must be. Liberalism destroys everything it touches, and certainly blacks are far from being immune to its overall affect on their lives.

I agree with you. We have a crime problem perhaps higher in balck areas though I think it has more to do with the family break up than race per say. But we have to stop with a lot of things that make those problems worse. First off, cultural relativism is a big big problem. If we can't say anything negative about how certain aspects of Black Culture are glorifying the very things that are killing black kids, then it's impossible to change it. American culture in general is pretty toxic (fun for holloween -- watch a 1950's horror movie and a 2000 horror movie. We likes the blood and gore to an absurd degree) glorifying the very things that make people do bad things. But to ignore hip-hop and rap as contributing to the mess is like saying that your 3 pack a day smoking habit has nothing to do with your cancer. If you teach kids through movies and music that your culture gets ahead by rape and pillage and drug dealing, and that it's a cool thing to do, kids will do that. Secondly, I think we need to go after modern gangs the way we went after the mafia. Get the FBI on their butts and reclaim the streets. Maybe we should consider doing the same kinds of counter-insurgency things that we did in Iraq -- take back the streets (via arrests of course) and keep dozens of police in the neighborhood to make sure that the gangs don't return. I think as far as the families go -- I think we need to be doing everything that we can as a society to prevent divorce and single parenthood. Make it harder to get a divorce for one thing. And encourage education especially in the ghettos.
Stop making excuses for people. That one is the worst excuse of the century, and frankly, it is getting stale. What do you consider "poverty?" An iPhone, a 60" flat panel TV? You might have a point if most crime was committed by homeless people, but that isn't the case.

Why invoke civil wars (Russia, Yugoslavia), USA-based drug wars (Colombia) or other USA-induced wars (Iraq, Afghanistan) to excuse black crime that rivals any of the death statistics of these situations that ARE IN FORMALLY DECLARED STATES OF WAR?
