My family and I know about this kind of plastic. It's not just the containers, but the 'food' itself is not real food. It's noting but sodium, preservatives and chemicals in the form of a 'food'. We don't even put hot foods in plastic containers - only glass. There is even a certain type of plastic in margarine.
I have had a shrimp and crabmeat omelet, but not an oyster one. I guess you'd have to fry, bake or steam the oysters first. (most meats in omelets have to be pre-cooked).
I'm with you. I think we overdo some things on food safety. Fear of raw chicken is one of them. With handling raw chicken with your hands, simply wash your hand before and after, and make sure the chicken is thoroughly cooked. Meatloaf the same way. As long as it's cooked properly, it's safe.
Total bull(*)(*)(*)(*) about the raw chicken. As long as you cook it thoroughly (internal temperature of 165 F), it's safe. The danger is spreading bacteria from the chicken to the rest of your food. That's why you need to keep from getting cross contamination--if a surface has touched raw chicken, it needs to be cleaned before touching anything else. The most important time to wash your hands is AFTER touching raw chicken.
There is not a type of plastic in margarine. That's one of those internet myths that keeps floating around. I'm not saying margarine is healthy, but it's not unhealthy because of plastic. http://www.snopes.com/food/warnings/butter.asp - - - Updated - - - Do the oysters have enough time to cook?
The blood spots aren't necessarily due to being fertilized. http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/questions/question/1485/
They were certainly cooked when I ate the omelets. Very yummy. You can believe Snopes about margarine, I will believe my medical clinic, Kaiser. A friend works there and they get reports on foods, etc and there was one about margarine. This was quite a few yrs ago when she told me about the margarine report and certain type of plastic in it....... Margarine is very unhealthy. Put a tub of margarine outside and the bugs won't eat it b/c it's not food........
I'll wolf down salted smoked oysters on occasion. Re: OP, I like eggs just fine, but I know some people can't stand them.
Interesting but doesn't really explain the glob that comes with it sometimes. It is rather unappealing when it happens, but it doesn't make me hurl or anything. I just toss out the whatever and start over. I have learned to crack my eggs into a cup or bowl first. - - - Updated - - - I like oyster fried. Raw you just have to swallow them like a pill and not try to chew, which really leaves you with no taste unless you add something to them like hot sauce. I would rather eat nothing than sauteed oyster though.
There is no plastic in margerine, that's silly. http://margarinemyths.com/en/is-margarine-one-molecule-away-from-plastic
Not saying it's healthy, but the whole plastic thing is total bull(*)(*)(*)(*). Unless you have a documented report, I claim urban myth, and I do have documentation. It's pretty easy to make margarine. It's been done for over 150 years--before plastic as we know it was invented.
You believe Snopes, I'll believe Kaiser Permanente, who got the report on margarine. I remember after the friend told me what she read, I saw an article on the net about this particular type of plastic crap in margarine. This was some yrs ago. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, whether it's some kind of plastic or something else, margarine is just another 'food' that's not a food.....no wonder people are so unhealthy.
And that's what cons people into eating crap. The know what good tasting artificial flavorings to put into junk so-called 'foods'. After my Kaiser friend told me what she read about margarine, never ate it again. Butter! I luv my butter! Of course, it costs more, but - oh well!
It's not even close. Boiled Okra is the most disgusting food. And I eat most anything. Well not boiled okra or sea cucumbers. https://www.google.com/search?q=boiled+okra&espv=2&biw=1167&bih=934&tbm=isch&imgil=ELMzNbwtJCG6iM%253A%253BXGxdHG-LtALb-M%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.suggestkeyword.com%25252FYm9pbGVkIG9rcmE%25252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=ELMzNbwtJCG6iM%253A%252CXGxdHG-LtALb-M%252C_&dpr=1&usg=__UbipWw4jLlaKB84BMq-zgmmSlyo%3D&ved=0CFkQyjdqFQoTCPuPg5DW-ccCFQF9iAode4kNcg&ei=4GP4VfufIIH6oQT7kraQBw#imgrc=ELMzNbwtJCG6iM%3A&usg=__UbipWw4jLlaKB84BMq-zgmmSlyo%3D
Please show us this "report." I don't buy it. I am not relying on snopes. I know the basics of organic chemistry (and both margarine and plastic are examples of organic compounds).
no, eggs have lithium which makes people less prone to anger, war, and violence, it should not be demonised as 'disgusting'
These are my eggs florentine with grits and bacon. Honestly I prefer eggs benedict but these are very pretty and have fewer carbs, of course.
