Well, it's certainly good to remain vigilant. However, whatever he's doing, I doubt he's going to declare himself dictator for life or anything. There'd be civil war, I'm fairly certain, if that ever happened. Or a quick booting out by other officials. I guess that would depend on how thorough his takeover efforts have been Seriously, though, I think we've been easing our way into dictatorship for a long time. Americans seem to be in a mindset to either encourage it in the name of their own ideals, or to let it slide as you and I do. We might complain here, but we aren't stopping it.
What can we do to stop it? We are hopelessly outgunned, the media ensures that most people go along with it, even believe in it. They keep thinking, if only "my" party wins this next election things will get better. And of course things keep going in the same direction no matter which half of the Republicrat tag-team holds office. So what is there to do?
The growth of militias hasn't gone unnoticed. I believe the people, a sizable percentage of Americans, realize that the legislation being passed, in some regards, has stopped being for our benefit. There is a certain feeling about where we're heading, and to me, it doesn't feel good. The saddest thing is, I have not the money to spend on a propaganda campaign that would shift the tide of power back to us. For the answer, I believe, is more aware people who can 'awaken' others. Too many people are absent from important matters because they believe our elected officials are there to represent only Americans, and nothing else.
If transparent rubbish like this keeps the fear alive, maybe a dictator is what conservatives need. You can't get smaller government than one man.
Seems to me a truly conservative "dictator" could achieve a smaller government before 537 elected officials could. Check and Balance is a wonderful theory, but to work those involved need first, to be interested in their Country, not their jobs....
