Great, then elective abortion can be banned, and then all of the funding that Planned Parenthood gets can remain, but spent on birth control! But somehow I doubt that you will be in favour of that!

You're STILL under the ridiculous impression that in order for the government to have power over something, they first need to exercise power over it!

I'm sure that you would be against banning abortion, even if women had easy access to unlimited free birth control, even if it was birth control which is guaranteed to work! This is because you do not believe in personal responsibility! I'm talking about a hypothetical future pill.
The case has been made and is a VERY simple one: in order for the government to have power over something, they DO NOT first need to exercise power over it!
Yep, "the government CAN decide!" I did NOT say that it DOES decide! You accused me of saying that the US govt DOES force hospitals to stop doing medical procedures.
No I didn’t. I said you agree it DOESN’T. You understand the difference between ’does’ and ‘doesn’t’, right?
Why would you say that when we weren't even talking about whether the US govt DOES force hospitals to stop doing medical procedures?
Because you gave no examples of any procedures the govt has stopped. But like every other posting with you this is going nowhere. So I'll allow you the last word. I won't see it, but feel free to post it anyway. Goodbye
So a woman with triplets in the oven is told by doctors that because of complications, she might be well advised to terminate one so the others have a better chance of survival. It's an elective abortion because there is a chance all the fetus might survive, but there is a chance all three will die if the the third isn't removed (and yes, this is real life with multiple fetus). Under your ban, who gets sent to prison? The mother? The doctors? Both? A woman with bi-polar mental illness has a breakthrough on her meds and gets pregnant. She commits herself to a hospital to get her medication under control. The hospital can't give her the meds because she is pregnant. Your ban won't let her abort because it's elective abortion. Who gets her ashes when she kills herself - you? Anti-abortionists try to fit women into this little box of just being an incubator for a fetus - they don't take into account the real lives of these women. They don't care.
