Ahhh, the oft-used infamous "gun deaths" meme. Translation: 2/3s of these are suicides.

Some facts; about 33,000 gun deaths in US but about 21,000 of them are suicides. About 44,000 Americans commit suicide each year, most of them older white males. The US suicide rate is on par with most First World nations, so having guns doesn't increase the rate of suicide, it just gives people an option not available in Europe. Banning guns won't reduce the suicide rate as shown by the European rates, it will just force people to switch to neckties, clothes lines, drugs, Gravity, etc.

Of the 1/3 "gun deaths" that are actually murders, the vast majority of those are black-on-black males in the 15-34 age groups. Banning guns won't stop criminals from having guns. The solution is to solve the inner city gang problems which are often fueled with drug trafficking.

Since these facts are well known, either the people advocating gun bans or more "gun control" are lying to the public or they are extremely naive. IMHO, it's the former. Gun control isn't about guns, it's about control. It's about asserting dominance of the Federal government over citizens "for their own good" because, ever since FDR, the Democrats have followed a philosophy that elitists know what is best for everyone and that "We, the People" should just let them rule over us without question.

The point is that deeply uncaring or totally uncivilized societies that dish out guns have high suicide rates, and societies that have people who care can bring them down remarkably - we are not playing your weird American team games. Those who dish out guns demonstrate they hate life. End of story.

Foreigners don't have to play any "American team games". They can just mind their own business and we'll mind ours.

Your suicide claims are not backed by evidence. Scream it all you want, but the data shows there are areas in First World nations with higher suicide rates and lower. It doesn't have to do with guns; it has to do with culture and mental health care.

Just so we are crystal clear, I believe the racial differences are cultural not genetic. Depression may have genetic components, but things like gang or domestic violence are cultural as seen throughout history. Using the two tables above, the trends are clear. How to fix them is not clear at all. Part of the solution is simply funding. A major part is "a will to do". What will not fix it is the fantasy that banning guns will cure gang-violence, stop drug trafficking and cure mental illness.

 

When you reach my age, matey, you'll discover why this 'race' bullshit is so utterly tedious. Capitalism is collapsing, and the only question is whether it destroys humanity with itself. I'd bet on a 99% likelihood, especially when I read this naïve guff.

 

There is a mental defect in how you perceive others, I am of a minority, and guns are not "dished out" here, they are sold under regulated circumstances to those law abiding people vetted by law enforcement for legitimate purposes.

Blindly looking at guns as the problem produces no solutions to the real problems today in America.

There are indeed problems with some minorities involved in the distribution of illegal drugs and guns, and the only way to resolve these issues is not by regulating the segment of society proven to be the most law abiding, the Millions with concealed carry licenses.
