I want to talk about British crimes in threads where they get on their high horse, pretend to have moral superiority and smugly lecture other countries half the world away on international law and value of human life while their military is bombing the cr*p out of several muslim countries and murdering ten of thousands of innocent civilians there. Do you mind? LOL

the way Israel acts, is it any wonder why the EU took Hamas off their terrorist list?

No wonder whatsoever, because sending suicide bombers accross the border to blow up malls and restaurants and firing rockets in the general direction of schools and kindergartens don't amount to terrorism in Europe if targets are Jews....

No one has accused Europe of having spine or principles lately.

when Israel keeps stealing land and refuses to abide by numerous United Nations Security Council resolutions, why should the world be on Israel's side?

The world should clearly be on the side of terrorists, murderers and religious extremists and to feel better about itself the world should pretend they are not terrorists, remove them from the terrorist list and give them aid money, knowing full well that the money will be spent on their primary objective of wiping Israel off the map.

PS Israel returned 99% of the land it conquered in wars started by Arabs to wipe it off the map

    silly strawman argument.

the world should support a free and democratic Palestine in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

I agree, but their objective is a sharia-based Palestine in the West Bank and Gaza and East Jerusalem...and Tel Aviv and Haifa.

As long as Israel is right around the corner to prevent it from happening. I don't need to tell you what happened in Gaza the moment Israel withdrew, do I? And if it was not for Israel, Hamas would rule the entire Palestine, not even because it's more popular than the PA even though it probably is, but mostly because it's more violent and that's all that it takes.

Stop fooling yourself Ron cause you are certainly not fooling anyone else, you are smarter than that and deep in your heart you know beyond any doubt that singing kumbaya alongside Israel is not their idea of the future....nor is freedom, democracy, tolerance.

so the solution is for Israel to continue the status quo?

that will lead to international sanctions.

Sanctions sure beat suicide...That being said Israel has been sanctioned, attacked, boycotted, backstabbed since before it even existed....Ironically Brits were the first to practice all that against Israel long before 1948. Yet Israel has only been getting stronger, more prosperous, more democratic, more sophisticated, better educated (doesn't it remind you of Jewish history of incredible success in spite of world's hostility and double standard?)

PS don't bet on sanctions though, the sway of the arab world is diminishing with each drop of the oil price.;)

There will never be international sanctions against Israel whatever it does. The US would simply veto them in the UN. The only solution acceptable to the US is that Israel get everything it wants. It will never admit that of course and tries to give the international impression of even handedness but it is nonetheless the unstated goal. Its why this mindset exists over there that is a bafflement to any outsider given the economic political and strategic liability this dubious liaison has had for the US. As you might have noticed a straight answer to any question about that gets avoided like the plague

I fully agree with that last sentence, also, =until Jerusalem is fully 'owned' by Israel, peace will be beyond elusive. With the USA now an oil exporter, there is not as much motive to control the ME so tightly. Maybe it will not be such a tinder box.

Israel has been stealing Arab private property since 1949.

Israel expelled hundreds of thousands of Arabs from Israel in 1948 & 1949, and the West Bank in 1967.
