So the left abandons a wall and then expects the wall to still work. And then to make some sort of point, they point out how many times the wall was breached after telling us most illegals over stay their visas and most drugs come through ports of entry.

Everyone knew that a wall in the desert won't hold anyone back.

    False equivalence.

In the Capitol, you don't have lingering residents owing to visa overstays.

Illegal immigration went down under Obama.

Besides, because American agriculture is suffering from a labor shortage, we need more immigrants, not less.

What was stopped was the cruel permeant separation of children from parents due to a misdemeanor which was the policy under Trump.

No president in history has come up with a perfect immigration solution.

In fact, NAFTA increased Mexican manufacturing, resulting it less of need for Mexicans to flee to the US. So AMerican policies had a lot to do with improving the Mexican economy. Improving those economies are the best method of reducing illegal immigration.

Most illegals now are not from Mexico, the are from Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. They are controlled by drug cartels, who persecute their citizens, the reason they flee to America.

What we could do is legalize drugs, manufacture them in America, give them to drug addicts in a quarantined, controlled, supervised environment ( with conditions of rehab, job training, etc), and pull the economic rug out of the Cartels, then watch the illegal immigration diminish.

Fix the immigration system. The pol’s over the past decades apparently have been more interested in utilizing the broken system as a political football than doing what they’re paid to do.

For a wall to not work, all Democrats had to do was to succeed at one of three things.

    1) Don’t let it get finished.

    2) Don’t guard it with adequate manpower.

    3) Ignore our immigration laws.

You deliberately succeeded at all three, and then you claim the wall failed.

    You guys aren’t fooling anyone.

Other nations around the world have fortifications of sorts to enforce their integrity/immigration law systems. They also have people on the ground to help enforce it, and clearly we don't have the people on the ground to keep them from cutting through(also, if we say that Trump had no interest in the sanctions, need I remind you Pelosi wasn't interested in Trump wall.) That substantial lack of funding may also have been a factor.

That said, I'm willing to use bipartisan agreed steps: Let's see E-Verify across the nation, let's punish companies with a felony of illegally hiring illegals as well as their minor children. Let's send a message. Let's stiffen penalties for identity theft and stealing people's identities.

how much manpower would you consider "adequate" for 2000 miles of dinky little fence?

It's always been an expensive failure. It always will be. It's purpose is to be a monument to Trump.

The wall isn't going to keep out the bad people, the ones the wall advocates use to scare us. The drug runners, the traffickers, the terrorists, the criminals, etc. Nope. It's only going to keep out the poor people who don't have the means to get around it.

We're building a huge expensive wall to honor Trump and protect our Christian nation from the poor people.

So, are more illegals climbing the wall or just walking through the gaping holes that remain? See, the probably is Border Patrolmen are being used a greeters for the hoards of illegals just walking through; which means they can't patrol the border/wall which give illegals plenty of time to make those cuts.

We're a secular nation, not a Christian nation. For good reason, we don't want to be overrun by the Taliban like in Afghanistan. Though the implementation of Separation of Church/State differ(I do not for example believe in banning prayer from public schools, or public statues) I do think the idea is important to have in our country.

Enough to get the freaking job done. We can occupy two countries at the same time, but we can’t guard a freaking wall?

The people most likely to know, the border patrol, says the wall works.

No wall or anything else, is impenetrable. The issue is not whether it has been penetrated, the issue is whether it slowed them down enough to stop a significant number.

If you are going to blame anyone for Trump not getting his wall, it's the R congress AND TRUMP when Trump took office. If the R Congress wanted a wall, it would have happened PERIOD, the dems could not stop it.
