Been a while since the last one.

Ok. First question.


In which year did Hitler become Der Fuehrer of Germany?

 

Probably bad to have a quiz on the internet as I could easily fact check on Google but to he fair I won't.

I know he was chancellor until he got more power and this was the early 30's so I'll say 1933 because he had power at that time but I'm not sure if he was the fuher though it seems like a good date it rings a bell.

Anyway, no, 1933 is wrong.

 

(*)(*)(*)(*) just checked I got the dates to when he came to power and when he was fuher mixed up, well I guess it's good I'm not in school anymore.

 

It's kind of a trick question. Most people, who know anything on the subject, would say 1933. In fact, we had this question the other week at a trivia night we go to and I got it wrong because I wrote down the real answer. I explained it to the guy who runs it but he basically said, "1933 is the answer on my sheet so that's what we're going with."

 

Though I even checked again I even got the spelling for Fuhrer wrong I guess it's good I didn't continue with History. Though I just remember being told in class about WWII and Hitler and the date 1933 popped into my head so I just thought I would go with it.

Though usually when people are called out to be wrong it's usually the reaction to assume you are right I have even done this so I don't blame the Question master I'm assuming he is for saying it because people don't like being told they are wrong. Just human nature I guess.

Without cheating I think it was 1934 after Hindenburg died he took that title.

Already checked so I know it's 1934, it wouldn't of been fair of me saying it right after I Google it.

Yeah, 1934 is right.

Hitler became Chancellor, or Reichskanzler (hope I spelt that right) in 1933. Upon Hinderberg's death in 1934 the office of Reichskanzler and Reichspraesident was combined into one called Fuehrer und Reichskanzler.

What was Mussolini's political ideology before Fascism? (Is this too easy??) Also what event in his life prompted him to change ideology? Also what was his initial opinion of Hitler?

 

He was a socialist. Not sure what prompted him to change though.

He thought Hitler was a little upstart.

 

I'll say socialist as most fascists tend to come from some sort of workers rights movements and trade union supporters. No idea what changed his mind though I'll say lust for power or he was a good manipulator.

 

Yeah you're right. He got fired from a socialist newspaper for being to authoritarian.

And is it fair to count Germans flying against Russians? That was shooting fish in a barrel early on. It got tougher later, of course.
