The last time they applied, it took a US veto in the UNSC to block membership. The US has consistently vetoed any UNSC resolution that Israel doesn't like - a gross imbalance of power, and clear and consistent support for Israel's genocide.

Surely people can see today that Israel's direction in Gaza and West Bank is purely one of genocide for gaining real estate.

The US position has been that any resolution to that conflict must come from negotiations between Palestine and Israel. But, that is TOTAL BS. Israel doesn't even recognize Palestine as an entity. Plus, Israel is hugely powerful give the massive US military support - while undermining Palestine.

So, here we are in the ICJ, watching country after major country point out the devastation of Israel's years of genocide and demanding a halt.

While the US stands by in support of genocide.

This issue is not going away. The USA is establishing what we stand for, and that will NEVER be forgotten or forgiven.

The current G-20 meeting of top economies is NOT happy with the US decision to continue to veto moves toward ceasefire.

The US has issued 3 such vetoes so far.

Until the Palestinians are ready to have a sincere meeting with Israel to solve their differences, they are just going to stay in the same position with nothing being solved.

The state of Palestine is recognized by nearly 200 separate nations.

The UNSC evaluated Palestine and certified that Palestine had the structures in place to qualify for UN membership.

They aren't full members, because the USA vetoed.

They now have observer state membership in the UN, which gives them access to many UN organs. That move could be made by the UN, because the USA does not have vetoe power in the General Assembly.

It is Israel who refuses negotiations - NOT Palestine.

Israel is slaughtering tens of thousands of civilians. They are dropping bombs on what Israel stated were safe places for Palestinians to run to. They are destroying water, electricity, fuel, housing, hospitals, food, and they are bulldozing Gaza flat. There is no economy. Palestinians remain inside the walls in which Israel has kept Palestinians for decades - as humans in a concentration camp.

Now, they prevent adequate food to be delivered to the starving population.

There isn't ANY question about whether this is genocide.

I think that would be a reasonable case for Palestine. But if there were a hope for that it is paper thin now.

And, that goes for the atrocities Israel has been carrying out in West Bank. That is PALESTINIAN land. PERIOD.

As for the USA, we are responsible for arming and protecting Israel as they carry out atrocities that will NEVER be forgotten.

And, neither will US participation in those massive crimes of slaughter.

That is what happens if Israel doesn't get involved in police actions against militants and terrorists hiding among the Palestinians.

No need to go into Israel. The last time they tried a soft approach under a liberal government they got suicide bombings on their public transit busses. There's a reason why Netenyaho got elected and why he is also the head of Israel's war cabinet.

The Palestinians are responsible for causing or not preventing every militant group in their midst from organizing against Israel. Every Israeli incursion into Gaza or the West Bank in the past 10 years has been in response to a threat.

Palestinians absolutely need to police themselves.
