Jamie Foxx - "I kill all the white people in the movie. How great is that?".

What really kills me is the low level of talent this takes, he uses his color for cheap laughs like others use horrible language. Some combine both I hate it, it shows what people have learned to accept. The Industry can and SHOULD do better than this.

 

The industry does what sells. They didn't MAKE people accept it, they just milk whatever people already accept.

 

I think it's a guy pushing his First Amendment rights to get attention because his manager told him he was loosing market share.

If I were an "idealist" (which I am, but there are types) I'd say that all should have perfectly open minds to everything, up to and including black entertainers mocking civilization for their jewish manager's profits... etc... yadda yadda bla bla bla... until I'm so overloaded with alternate opinions I'm going to pray for an ability to puke out my mind without Swiss drugs.

By virtue of anybody's ability to change history by virtue of strong perception (it's a quantum-mechanical effect... nobody gets how Mormans had it made before Hinkley, as if it was the first time peoples got bashed for making a wrong move... like when Babylon bashed the ancient chosen people) I'm going to interpret the end of the Mayan calendar as being what happens when workers get tired of chizling rock with crapy tools and tell the boss they found a point where the last three major holidays of the Mayan fall on three significant days, whereupon they were lucky and the boss was able to tell the sacrifical pyramid builder king to let them stop, else it it would cost the ruler money rolling out new giant circular stones to carve upon.

Unbeknownst to all was that in their midst was a wize old woman aware that if they stopped there, then from that point would come MBA briefcase-carriers of shareholders making deals with the locals to turn those overgrown monuments into tourist attractions, with State doing what it's supposed to do, which is make sure those deals are not feeding Maxican drug mafia on the other side of Mexico.

So... after tonight, the evil spirits of the ancient Mayan temples are finally let free to be sorted out according to a higher form of decision, such that no matter how guilty they can no longer hand around (I smell movie), opening up improvement of ancient Mayan temples into fine resorts where propper splits of profit happen between everyone local around plus ... does Mexico have any idea/budget about cultural preservation? I bet they got kids thinking that way the more they are taught.

It's only a Problem when we let it be. My black friends and white friends make awful racist jokes about each other all of the time. I'm talking things that guys say in private that are highly socially unacceptable. no one bats an eye because its funny. when we talk aboout it like this we just make it more of a problem. if we all lightened up a little and removed the proverbial stick, racism wouldnt seem like the huge problem we make it to be.

 

Just got back from seeing it. It is easily my new favorite QT movie. It's better than Inglorious Bastards and better than Kill Bill. You're an idiot if you let these butthurt rednecks convince you not to see it.

 

I looked up "QT", and all I got was Quick Time, so... what does "QT" stand for in the movie sense?

From the title it sounds like a frustrated black guy pissed off going on a rage... right?

It's about a slave named Django who gets freed by a bounty hunter because the bounty hunter knows Django knows what his target looks like. So they team up to attack his target. Then Django tells the bounty hunter about his wife whom he was separated from. And the bounty hunter agrees to help him get his wife back.

It's a western set in the south pretty much.

 

Cause blacks didn't enslave the whites. HTH

A comedian is not supposed to be acceptable, he's supposed to be funny, and he's often funny just BECAUSE he's not acceptable.

What Foxx said was one line, and that line was patently untrue in the movie. Django only killed a few villainous white people who he had to, those who he didn't have to kill to rescue his wife were left alone.

 

Try also reversing the historical context if you want to get a clue as to why it's different.

 

He masks his racism as "comedy" and it's not right nor honest. I bet there were a lot of White people in the audience who laughed. I don't know whether it was a nervous laugh because they felt uncomfortable or whether they were too stupid to figure it out that he really meant what he was saying. I am sure he enjoys their cluelessness. He's like Sharpton; he just uses another tact to share the message.People need to call him out on it.
