Maybe you should read links instead of just regurgitating other post
Republicans had initially demanded border policy changes in exchange for Ukraine aid, but abandoned that trade-off this week quickly after the border deal was announced, deeming it inadequate.

the fact that Republicans reneged on the bipartisan deal after it was given to them, doesn't mean they did not ask for it

It's too bad Democrats have to be convinced not to financially support foreign criminals in our country illegally.

You didn't read what I posted in the post you responded to. You are mistaken in your statement. The immigration bill was added by the request of Republicans, then passed in the Senate, then the Republicans refused it because.............it had an immigration bill in it. The Republicans right now are a living definition of hypocrisy, but we all know why, they are following the guidance of a complete idiot in Trump, who cares not if things get done but does care about himself above all else. He will destroy the Republican party for his own gain, mark my words.

    I did read your source.

In fact, I quoted directly from it.

Republicans rightly pointed at the disaster at the southern border and asked something be done about it.

Democrats said they'd put something together if they could put foreign aid in it.

They drafted the abomination in the Democrat senate, and it was rightly refused by Republicans in the house for doing nothing to stop illegal immigration.

You mean the one that demanded 1.8 million illegals into the US per year.
That you support and Republicans shot down?

I did. You should re-read as you clearly do not grasp what it means. It's literally saying that they wanted them tied together. LOL!
Oh wait, you think "in exchange" means "in place of", maybe?
    You should temper your hostility..............

The immigration bill that the Democrats keep accusing the Republicans of not supporting it was a piece of garbage. It allowed 5,000 illegals into the country every day before there could be a closure of the border, which is badly needed. That comes out to over 1.8 million illegals allowed in the country per year. It would have tied the hands of any future president who would have wanted to fix the open border problem.

Furthermore, we would have been dependent on "lyin' Joe Biden" to enforce it. His record of honest in office is dreadful.

In short, the "bipartisan immigration bill" was the usual screwing that we get from RINO Republicans. The Democrats would get practically everything they want, and the Republicans would get nothing.

no deal allows more then that, why do republican prefer that? is it because they want this issue and they want to blame it on dems, they do not really want to fix it?

So now, your argument is, you're going to redefine the word exchange?
Republicans demanded border policy changes in exchange for Ukraine aid

Which means Democrats wanted Ukraine money in the border policy bill, and Republicans demanded border policy changes IN EXCHANGE for that consideration.
And when Democrats added 1.8 million illegals will be allowed into the US every year, Republicans refused to sign it.

No. The only possible solution to the open borders catastrophe is the vote Biden and progressive Democrats out of power. The progressive Democrats don't give damn about the country or American citizens. The progressives are "citizens of the world" who oppose national borders. They think that they can "tax the rich" and put everyone in the world on welfare who wants to come to The United States. That is not logical, but progressives seldom think about the consequences of their policies. They think all goods are free and should be given to anyone who demands them.

Yes, we know how much you were drooling over having 1.8 million illegals turned loose on Americans every year to murder, rape, and beat up citizens while bringing in fentanyl killing thousands per day
    Thanks for clarifying

if one doesn't support the bill, then they want no 5000 cap, which means there is no cap without the bill

this bill in normal times would be a wet dream for republicans... but Trump wants immigration to be an issue for 2024, so they won't get it

He did just make up most of that. There are some very rich Republicans who want immigrants to come here and work for low wages. That would also lower wages for American citizens. Those Republicans are little better than the progressive Democrats.
