I lived in CA when that happened and watched the criminal trial every day in my office. No, he wasn’t convicted of murder and there was no way he ever would have been. If you watch any of the numerous documentaries about the case (you can get them free and on demand if you have Comcast) one juror, an older black woman, said the not guilty verdict was for Rodney King. However, in the civil case he was ordered to pay $25 million and it was because he murdered two people.

Popscott? How was Popscott held to a different standard from Carroll? I'm curious to learn more about your planet.

Was that before, or after she defected to Russia?

So now you care about civil findings . . . like the one against Trump. I'm glad we agree that Trump and OJ are equally guilty.

Carroll made an accusation and you believed it, so why aren’t you believing Popscott?

How many times do we have to repeat?

The fault is only part of the amount.

The portion of punitive damages is based on two things:

1- The wrongdoer's ability to pay.

2- The amount must be sufficient to prevent the offender from doing it again.

You can laugh it off because the "punish the Republicans" has worked very well for your party. Perhaps you won't be so pleased if you end up living in a dictatorship, and you don't agree with it.

Hurt feelings vs double murder, I’d hardly call that equal. Plus Simpson, after murdering two people, is still a hero among a certain underrepresented and marginalized crowd.

Before that, Trump must deposit $83.3 million in a trust account to cover the fine if he loses.

This is the first condition if he wants to appeal his case.

Unfortunately, this is money he doesn't have in cash.

So he'll have to put up unmortgaged buildings as collateral and assign their management to a court-appointed third party before his case is even heard.

    Isn't that fantastic?

OJ was guilty as hell. "If I did it". Who the **** would write an arrogant book like that unless he was guilty of it in the first place (okay, it was ghostwritten, but I'm pretty sure he authorized it, based on interviews he gave). Moreover, he was jailed for a burglary later, and in my view (I know, it's a wild guess, but one wonders why, this is the only thing that makes sense to me) that he intentionally got himself incarcerated because he was guilt ridden, and felt a need to atone for his sin.

And based on a preponderance of the evidence, he was found liable for both murders.

The sad truth was that the OJ prosecutors blew the case.

There was a legit rebuttal to the glove not fitting, (because Cochran tried put it on with another rubber glove underneath and it was blood soaked and shrank, and he deliberately made it difficult to fit, and that they didn't rebut it, that means they were incompetent besides the fact they should have never raised the issue in the first place, it was a tactical error)

It's astonishing that you sleuthed this out and nobody much more intimate with the case didn't!

Why do progressives run away from the Democrat Party when you identify them as Democrats? Do they think calling themselves “independent” makes them look cool and objective? It doesn’t work.

Oh, another Australian who thinks they are qualified to impose their political opinions on Americans. Got it!

I would never presume to impose politicians on your country. Why do you think you should impose them on me?

More importantly, the jury believed it.

I've never said a word about whether or not I believe Carroll. And what does that have to do with Popscott?

OJ was never criminally convicted of any murder. Do I need to write that basic observation in a simpler sentence or do you realize this?

No doubt, by definition it seems indisputable.

When did DFT sit "in the witness box" in any of the E Jean Carroll trials?

He didn't. That's what I said. (Oh, except for three mins in the second Trial, and he was barred from making a denial.)
