Again, dude, if you really believed what you were saying you would have no problem taking me up on my charity wager. I don't think you actually believe what you are arguing and, regardless, you are the only one in the country arguing it. No one else treats it seriously. Not even Trump and his defense team.

What federal election? It's not so much a federal election as it is 50 state elections.

But, the campaign finance laws in Louisiana don't apply to Federal elections.

There's a difference between state campaign finance laws and Federal campaign finance laws.

The presidential election is a Federal office, not state. Campaign finance is regulated by the FEC, not the states.

Every state has laws governing how they handle presidential elections. Every. Single. One. If Bragg does bring charges and he does not mention a single NY law in those charges, I will issue you a personal apology. If he does, I hope that you man up and do the same.

Shortly before the 2016 presidential election, Daniels received a $130,000 payment in return for staying silent about a decade-old claim of an affair with Trump. The payment came from Michael Cohen, then Trump’s lawyer, and Trump reimbursed Cohen with personal checks while Trump was president. In 2018, Cohen pleaded guilty to crimes related to the payment and served a prison sentence.

(Here’s the fuller story behind the payoff, by our colleague Michael Rothfeld.)

If the grand jury does bring charges against Trump, the Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, will oversee the case. And Bragg will likely accuse Trump of covering up the reimbursements to Cohen. Falsifying business records can be a felony in New York if done to conceal another crime. In this case, the other crime could be a violation of election law: Cohen’s payment to Daniels. The most likely charge Trump faces is punishable by up to four years in prison.

I'm not not talking about elections. I'm talking about campaign finance laws.

Oh, now it's ANY New York law? Not New York election laws, or campaign finance law? See how you're weaseling, already...lol

You're claiming that he has no state laws to work with. Now you are backpedaling. See how you're weaseling.

No, I said state campaign finance laws don't apply to Federal candidates.

See how dishonest you are, already? Of course I'm not entering into a wager with you...lol

You literally claimed that Bragg was going after federal charges. That's not true. Deal with your mistake, grow, and move on.

If he's trying to prosecute campaign finance crimes, as you claimed...

"So far the most likely scenarios involve campaign contribution crimes along with misreporting the funds."

    ... he's prosecuting Federal crimes.

Whatever you need to tell yourself, dude. Bragg has neither the ability nor the desire to prosecute federal crimes. I know junior high kids who can comprehend this.

So.........one of you defenders of everything Don claims the statute of limitations has expired and you claim the charges Bragg plans to bring don't apply to Trump. Meaning in Trumpworld, Bragg is not only a partisan hack but an incompetent one as well. Don't you think Trump's attorneys would have pointed out Bragg's glaring errors if he was really making them? Would Trump have announced he was about to be arrested if there was no chance he was going to be because, as you claim, the charges don't apply to him?

He's doing very close to exactly that.

Is a GJ normally involved in a misdemeanor crime?

If he's prosecuting a campaign finance violation, he's prosecuting a Federal crime.

I never made any such claim. I said, NYS campaign finance laws don't apply to Federal candidates. Why the dishonesty?

Bragg would never bring charges based on Cohen's testimony alone, without any supporting evidence. No prosecutor would. So far, the receipts have been backing up Cohen's claims.
