He failed to make quality PPE available to people who needed it. He undermined efforts by state governors to promote social distancing by encouraging violations of state orders. He dismissed the seriousness of those early covid variants when we didn't have effective treatments or vaccines. He promoted unsafe and ineffective treatments. He showed, time and again, he didn't make the effort to understand the nature of the virus and how it was impacting millions of Americans. He held gatherings at the White House. He failed and Americans noticed. I think it's fair to say, he probably would be President today, likely with control of both the Senate and House, if he hadn't so miserably failed.
