Since the beginning of time, it has always been the women who decide on abortion.

perhaps that is the more conservative option.

roe vs wade embodied a libertarian (small l) approach that modern conservatives could not abide.

as i said last year this will NEVER be left to the states, and those who extolled the virtues of "small government" were fooling only themselves. .

Sure I'll admit its a bad move and doesn't really save one single baby. Can you admit that baby murder shouldn't be the GO-TO form of birth control? There's this amazing thing, let me think of what its called
    Oh yeah, I remember.............................PREVENTION

    Dobbs:
Held: The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled; and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives.

Congress is full of elected representatives.
Question is, of course, where does the Constitution give Congress the power to create legislation with regard to abortion?>

We've been through this, there simply is not a constitutional protection of abortion. Roe v Wade was a consciously bullshit decision.

Pass an amendment if you want.

This is coming from someone who is very supportive of access to abortion.

Extreme views on abortion adopted by leftists have driven the push back. The first I heard the extreme view that abortion law included the murder of live born black babies was from Ralph Northam. The entire genocide cult took the lead from Northam. Nazi collaborator, Margaret Sanger never even considered murdering live born black babies in her founding of the abortion industry.

The founders weren't around to wax on the constitutionality of murdering babies, but Ruth Bader Ginsberg did have that opportunity. For Ginsburg, the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision that affirmed a woman’s right to an abortion was too far-reaching and too sweeping, and it gave anti-abortion rights activists a very tangible target to rally against in the four decades since.
    https://www.law.uchicago.edu/news/j...s-critique-roe-v-wade-during-law-school-visit

There is no right to kill black babies as Margaret Sanger had intended in founding the abortion industry and certainly no right to kill live born black babies and, more importantly, there is no federal power enumerated in the Constitution to grant that right. Thus, the SCOTUS actions re Roe was consistent with the Declaration of Independence, which has guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to live residents of the US for 146 years. The 10th Amendment guarantees that the federal government can only act on powers enumerated in the Constitution, thusly

    Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

There is a pattern at play. When Democrats line up against a Demographic, they justify the actions that follow by framing that demographic as somewhat less than human. Before Republicans freed their slaves, Democrats considered blacks to be 3/5 of a human.

In reality, during the founding of the US, the debate was between Federalists and anti-Federalists, Federalists wanting the states and localities to share their power with the Federal Government and anti-Federalists not wanting the Federal Government to have power over the states at all. The Declaration of Independence excluded consideration of the fascist state your ilk desires. The founders fought a war to rid us of the fascist powers consistent with the kind of central government desired by leftists.

and the civil war was fought to correct that miscalculation of the founders in allowing the states to oppress their own inhabitants. the 14th amendment exists affirming equal protection under the law. .

Except that abortion isn't a right. It is an indulgence. In order for there to be a right, it cannot infringe on other people. Abortion definitely infringes on somebody.

Republican politicians certainly do. I don't know about the public, though.

From what I gather it's more to do with an overstretch of what the supreme court can rule on versus trying to tear down abortion rights.

Nevermind FMW explained it better than I have.

If abortion rights or lack of change the riding in states from red to blue, expect it will get dropped or eased up on.

A nation was formed in an imperfect world in which slavery existed. The founders created a document under which slavery could not endure long term. Yes, in 1854 antislavery voices consolidated and the Civil War was fought a few years later.

The country has evolved until recently, when radical Democrats tore down historical monuments like those of Lincoln and abolitionist Frederick Douglass while leaving monuments to exalted cyclops Robert Byrd and White Supremacist Stephen A. Douglas unscathed. Not surprising since the patron saint of progressivism, Woodrow Wilson, was the first postbellum President to segregate the Civil Service and is also known for resurrecting the KKK.

    Bodily autonomy is a right.

    Abortion infringes on no person.
Banning abortion infringes on the rights of pregnant women.
