Former Rep. Liz Cheney, a top House Republican-turned-fervent critic of former President Genital Wart, is weighing a third-party bid against him as she issues dire claims about how Cheeto Jesus returning to power in 2024 could be the end of American democracy.

"Several years ago, I would not have contemplated a third-party run … I happen to think democracy is at risk at home, obviously, as a result of Human Turd's continued grip on the Republican Party, and I think democracy is at risk internationally as well," Cheney, who helped run the House select committee that investigated the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, told The Washington Post on Monday.

The former Wyoming lawmaker's vocal critiques of Combover Caligula in the wake of Jan. 6 and his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss helped lead to the end of her congressional career; she was defeated in a 2022 primary by a Goldman's Sack-backed Republican opponent.

She is certainly correct that Urine Bather is a threat to American democracy, especially since we saw him actually try to steal an election when he lost it and used vicarious violence as a political tool and weapon on January 6. It is also interesting that she mentions the risks to democracy abroad; certainly having the Orange Authoritarian come back would not help the rest of the free world, since he always sides with dictators over our democratic allies and even over his own government agencies and officials.

Of course, I feel that her making this public statement is meant to nudge Republicans to nominate someone other than him. It should help give a boost to the remaining candidates, especially Haley now that she seems to be pretty much the chosen one to try and overthrow Cheeto Golem and his hold on the Republican base. The message is: nominate a better candidate or I will do what I can to spoil the election for Combover Caligula.

 

I have a soft spot for those that take a hardline against the corruption of their own tribe as opposed to those that kowtow to it. She would definitely get my vote!

 

One does not have to buy into all her policy ideas , to know that this lady is intelligent, conscientious, LOVES this country, and is very concerned (as she should be) about what is happening in the R party that has been contaminated by trump. She is capable, articulate, knowledgeable and would never make the STUPID gaffs that the idiot trump makes even with his limited vocabulary and even more limited knowledge base) She would be a more than acceptable potential candidate and might make a third party a more realistic possibility. It might be long overdue to get out of the binary situation that two parties offer (limiting as it can be)
(an aside: One does not have to "hate" trump to se and realize that he is totally unfit for the job. He might do well in Russia or somewhere with a similar system)

She is diplomatic ,tactful and would handle herself on the word stage with intelligence and sophistication while being down to earth and realistic.

 

So you claim the woman who voted for Trump twice and supported 90% of his policies is now intelligent, conscientious, and LOVES this country.

She actually brings that up here (says she voted with him "over 90% of the time").

 

It might be funny to you. But at least she had a realization of what the man is/was and now speaks to that . In fact her understanding of Trump would be right on the mark. She did NOT become part of his groupie thinking, and blindly follow him as if hypnotized. That goes to the strength of the lady.

 

He and his followers are the biggest threat to democracy that our country faces. No one else comes close.

Exactly !!! It is very concerning to consider what they would put in place or the current system. Wonder if they fully REALIZE the implications of all this Sometimes it feels like they just want something different , for different's sake and that is immature and irresponsible when it comes to something as major as this.
Would it be like the "plan" to change healthcare......without providing a viable alternative for folks to consider.
What is concerning is that they behave as if they are mesmerized by trump.

Possibly.

If she runs, it could bleed independents away from Dems. Whether she helps or hurts Trump depends ENTIRELY on whether she is more appealing to independents who would otherwise vote for Biden or independents that would otherwise vote for Trump. That's it. That's all that matters.

 

LOL.... Read a recent poll... Independents aren't voting for Biden already... So what demographic is she "stealing"? the Sensible shoe man-haters club?

 

A Cheney led 3rd party would guarantee Trump's nomination -- even if he is in prison.

 

I don't share your religious faith in individual polls. And where is the poll saying that no independents are voting for Biden? I'm an independent and I'll be voting for Biden, assuming it is another Trump vs Biden matchup. And how does she hate men?

 

As it stands now IMO, many Independents will vote for Biden. Especially if Biden does well in a debate with Trump -- and Biden can be a very effective debater.
Probably better than any other potential Democrat in a one n one against DJT.

How so? What will Trump do that justifies that claim? He will run for President and if elected will root out the Biden administration and install his own. How is that different from every President that preceded him?

 

I've never seen anyone more attention whore seeking than this individual, and of course it is that said attention seeking that attracts Democrats to her even though she's a neo-con. This isn't the first or the last time she bleated this out by the way.

Your 15 minutes are up, you will never have any office in these United States again. You lost by 40+. Give it up, go retire somewhere. If I were you, instead of wasting funds on a run that will make absolutely no difference, I'd plan some luxurious vacation.

His core of about 46-47% is not going to vote for anybody but Trump...
Any candidate who serves to split the Anti-Trump vote can only serve to help Trump and hurt Biden...

Yes, seeing a politician put country before party (or him/herself) is still appreciated by some, and no doubt many independents would vote for her (those who will not vote for Trump / Biden).
