Also, certain municipalities have their own laws that may affect the legality of carrying a knife. In Los Angeles, for example, it’s illegal to openly carry any knife with a blade longer than 3″.

Jesus, you 2nd amendment fetishists crack me up. Rights have boundaries, that is, where they begin, and more importantly, where they end. The 2nd amendment isn't immune to this legal fact. You act like it is an absolute right, when there really is no such thing. In fact, every single right enumerated in the Constitution can be, and often is, stripped away within the boundary of the law.
