So, you want them to stop walking around carrying the .50 cal machine gun due to the fact it is belt fed and carries along hundreds of rounds. I agree.

I have here, my .22 cal LR Hi Standard, semi automatic pistol. Given it has virtually no recoil, do you favor such guns or those with far more recoil that are not nearly as accurate?

Here my pistol is. How many bullets are in the pistol right now?

Is it laws or education of the populace? Is it the engineering done by professionals to make cars safer perhaps?

For one we can do so WITHOUT impinging on anyone's constitutional rights whatsoever.

The left has no intentions of actually making things better. They use the fantasy of a utopian society to lure people into supporting them.

This tactic has been used throughout history to take control of a society. This is what the left wants. They want power and that is it. If they can take guns away from people then it is easier to control those people.

To a large extent i agree that this is a practical impossibility for THIS COUNTRY. It is a practical impossibility because we are unwilling to do those things that likely would help

For example, a supercillious example would be to say that we confiscate all guns. That would likely reduce school shootings

A more workable solution would be to adopt israli gun laws

Because we're hopeless buttinskies who hate freedom, so we make stupid laws that result in ten year old kids having to sit in baby seats wearing 5 point seat belts, full face helmets and surrounded by airbags in response to some kid who fell out of the bed of his dad's pickup truck on the way to the town dump.

Banning semi-auto weapons doesn't impinge on the Constitution any more than banning full auto does

I have to admit that you certainly do have your fair share of bizarre opinions. And the thing is that you're correct. Banning full auto is something that the federal government has no constitutional authority to do, just as would be the case if they tried banning semi autos.

What about them being able to defend themselves and students such as using the semi automatic pistol I own now on display in my avatar? Enlarge my gun by clicking on it. I would say it would stop a killer quicker than a chair or hunting for a fire extinguisher would.

Cite the part of the 2nd amendment backing you up. Do you recall the words ... shall not be infringed? See it in the 2nd amendment?

    in·fringe
    inˈfrinj/
    verb
past tense: infringed; past participle: infringed
    1. actively break the terms of (a law, agreement, etc.).
"making an unauthorized copy would infringe copyright"

      • act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on.
"his legal rights were being infringed"
synonyms: restrict, limit, curb, check, encroach on; More

Democrats probably under FDR created a different constitution. FDR worked his arse off revamping the constitution to suit himself.

Why do we have the bill of rights? To protect ourselves from Government. We who trust government completely have a screw loose.

I think we have a lot more guns than killers. So stop the killers. Stop attacking we who abide by laws.

So your stupid claim is that seat belts were added to cars because the auto industry decided that would be a good thing?

It wasn't the LAWS that made it happen?

    Oh....

Is it like the Government has the right and duty to shut you up? Do you want that right to also be impinged on?

    Fellow Liberal here.

Banning all semi-auto firearms would be unConstitutional.

Just as the SCOTUS determined that banning the possession of handguns was unConstitutional.

Show me where I even got close to saying that. I think you have the time and will to bluster today.

How long have you thought that seat belts are a right named in the Bill of Rights?

Give me a number, and I realize it is a guess.

Your local police force is 100 percent armed. Would you settle for say 1 percent being armed? None or name a figure.

cops get special training and supervision.

id accept getting rid of most of NY's gun laws if all gun owners were required to undergo the same supervision and testing as police.

Most people (not even law enforcement) have either the talent or the will to effectively defend themselves against a firearm that is already drawn.
