Whenever people make the claim whether it be national health insurance, gun control or whatever that they "do it _______(fill in the blank with some other country)" so why can't we do the same in the United States, I think of it this way:

Pop Warner football (Pee Wee) involves 10-12 year olds playing football.

Overall the game in most respects is the same as that played by pro football players.

But does anyone really think a successful Pee Wee football coach is capable of successfully coaching the Eagles, Patriots, Saints, or Vikings?

I'm totally supportive of it, so long as they're limiting their enthusiasm for their local government. Talk to your mayor! Hell, talk to your HOA! Just leave me out of your plans to become captain save-a-ho.

Exactly on the subject of kicking out the border hoppers from Mexico. I told you that you can brag. Record of most illegals kicked out. Be proud and brag.

Frankly on the rest of his issues, he was far too slow of mind. Took at times years to come to a decision. Often took many many months to reach a decision. Too slow in the mind. He could not come to a quick decision.

Obama deported more illegals that Trump and FAR more of those were actual criminals...

But people like Robert think that's a bad thing

Conservatives pride themselves on their Christian ethics. . . . From Jesus' own words, Matthew 25:31-46:

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left."

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?"

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me."

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?"

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me."

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

Any second thoughts about being a goat???

Christians are saved through personal obedience. Not by public policies. When you think public policies mean personal morality you get the men of the Kennedy family who believed that if they supported "womens issues" they were entitled to brutalize and humiliate every woman they encountered.

Those who SAY public policies SHOULDN'T reflect personal morality are rationalizing hypocrites. . . . And Christianity doesn't condone OR tolerate mistreatment of women.

Furthermore, those who favor government expulsion of immigrants certainly WOULD NOT welcome them into their own homes.

It does apply to all of us if we are a member of the society. That is to say that one can always do better, do more. We end up perpetuating the problem when we take the stance that it doesn't apply to me.

You apparently didn't understand my post. I did not write that I am in favor of spending a trillion dollars for school safety. I did write that we DO have the money as evidenced by the fact that we are wasting many times that amount in Middle East wars.

Instead of shooting from the hip and inaccurately portraying another person's views, you might try carefully reading and understanding the post to which you are replying.

My goodness- I can pretty well agree with that.
You miss the point. While it's true that we should all be pulling in the right direction, it's also true that if you are not, you are distinctly more responsible for the issues that those that are- whether they are doing a little of a lot in the right direction, it is the right direction. Our society has a problem now that says "other people should fix my problems". That burdens those who will accept responsibility and benefits those who won't. I hold all of us individually responsible for our own life choices, because placing it anywhere else destroys the power to control your own life. I won't give that kind of person a pass.

Why didn't man just throw himself into the volcano, instead of figuring out how to hunt and gather?
