This whole ‘Confederate General’ thing is simply the opening salvo in the war against White males. They were the lowest hanging fruit. As Trump predicted, Jefferson, Washington and others would be next. Heck, they took down all the photos of preeminent physicians at Harvard recently because they were mostly White males in the name of ‘diversity’......LMAO

Well, one thing I'm glad of is you recognize the Civil War and why it was fought is a bad thing, so there appears to be hope for you. No one ever said that history had to be forgotten but the statues glorify it. Do you think that is right? After all, who won? Not the guys whose statues are being taken down.
If we took down the Iraq statue or helped, what difference does it make, the point is the same and you didn't answer that. The parallel would be blacks taking down the Civil War statues....oh, wait.
Yes, I recognize the statue. It means nothing. A private citizen bought it as a memento of the Soviet Union, so what's your point.

So are you saying this is where the leftist picked up this bad habit? The Egyptian pharaohs were also great at erasing history too, just think what mysteries/tales we would have certainties about today if those kings hadn't acted like silly leftist..

of course, thats why vandalism is against the law.

Where we differ is on the justification of vandalism.

Here's the way I see the Civil War, I could be a little wrong, but it's my opinion. Most people in the south didn't have slaves, and the privates in the confederate army certainly didn't. So those low ranking soldiers weren't fighting to keep slaves, they were fighting for what they believed in, which was their culture. The statues of the generals represent those men, who were Americans, not slavery.

Do you know that after the Viet Nam war McNamara met with the Vietnamese generals he fought against and admitted they were admirable opponents? Once the war was settled the hate disappeared and a mutual respect for what each side tried to accomplish kicked in. The leaders and generals on both sides were just doing the job they were tasked with.

Great men rise to the top. I know I'm going to catch flack for this, but you don't rise to the highest levels that many people do, including the evil ones, without having something special that will get people to believe and follow you. Great leaders of men and being evil are two separate things. Some of our greatest minds achieved great things, and some of our greatest minds turned to being evil, the Unabomber is an example of that - great mind, evil disposition. If we had lost WWII to Germany and Japan, many of our greatest leaders of the time would have been considered evil by the enemy and executed. We won so they're considered heroes. Just saying....

Edit: In military terms, General Rommel was a great man who had the misfortune of being on the wrong side. Fighting for one's country shouldn't be a crime unless war crimes are committed. Doing one's duty should never be a crime.

The average German soldier was doing the same exact thing the average American and British soldiers were doing and that's going along with the program because that's what patriots do when their country calls. I would say the same thing for the Japanese but the average Japanese soldier seemed a lot more fanatical and willing to die for their cause.

The war was about secession. The indisputable #1 reason why the Southern states seceded, in their own words, was over slavery. You didn't have to own slaves to be fighting for it. I'm against destroying or vandalizing anyone else's property, but Southern revisionism has gotten really out of hand. Folks can't complain about "destroying history" when the Confederate apologists have already done the heavy lifting.

You are fooling no one. The primary reason that Southern commoners fought was out of fear that if the Union won, Blacks would be given equal standing to Whites. Apparently a sentiment that still circulates around certain quarters.

Its super sweet how you like to cast blame on Americias take over of Spanish inspired and British rule of colonial life. Its like totally incredible how you marginalize the loss of 600,000 American lives it took to end slavery, and blame the descendants of those whole immigrated later.....

Im like totally impressed with your acumen and maturity.

Hold on to your colon boys, democrats are on the war path.....

Were you under the impression that you had addressed my post at all? In the slightest? I'm not in need of more strawmen.

I hope Trump will denounce this violence and explain to the people that there were good people among the Confederates.

If he do that, his re-election is guaranteed.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
    All mimsy were the borogoves,
    And the mome raths outgrabe.

    “Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
    The frumious Bandersnatch!”

    He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
    And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
    And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
    The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
    He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
    O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
    He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
    All mimsy were the borogoves,
    And the mome raths outgrabe.

    Utterly retarded.

Trump should focus on the needs of the American people today.

Not some left hand circle jerk of a passive aggressive agenda to kill whitey.

Heres a crazy idea, the US government should focus on US citizens....

    So you are a rep
Rewriting history is a favorite passtime of angry lefties. I went to a public school and we had years of history. I feel sorry for you but I am grateful I did not have your burden.

Didn’t BLM meet with Obama, and later on Clinton?
