You can declare war on irregular forces too, not just on country. But in any case, it would be more precise to say that Hamas is waging a proxy war with Israel. They don't fire the rocket themself, they just buy/build them and have some other irregular troop launch them.

I have plenty of knowledge about the event, having known and lived with people on both side of that tragedy.

Fair enough.

If the claim is that Muslims kill more than Christians over the last 20 years and you exclude war the claim is valid.

Not valid if you include war though.

If this is a war then we can not count these Muslim killings into the total.

There were periods in the past when the Catholic church managed to behave itself for a couple of decades only to start up again.

The root cause is still there and is as follows:

Religious leader claims to speak for God
A Cult doctrine is put in place that paints a Black vs White, Good vs Evil, God vs Devil senario. Cult doctrine is Good, anything contradictory is Evil.
Fear of eternal punishment in the afterlife stops folks from questioning.

Claims of the Religious leader then come from God and as such are beyond question. Anyone who contradicts these claims is demonized and marginalized and those who would want to speak out do not because of fear of eternal punishment or ostracism.

All it takes is a crisis situation to arise and the mob once again will start persecuting folks because the bad event is due to Gods anger and it is these folks that have angered God or some other silly claim in relation to doing God's work.

Indeed .. and who wrote the history ?

During the Balkan war how much coverage was given to the WWII genocide ?
Only the atrocities of the bad Serbs was aired.

Understand that I am not trying to say that the Serb actions in the Balkan war were a good thing. Indeed the Serbs I talk to say that not all Croats were involved and/or supported the WWII Genocide.

What we can say is that at minimum, the Church not only supported the Genocide by participation of the clergy, but also that the Vatican stood silent and even helped Pavilic escape.

Those who refused conversion -- and they were in a large majority, since to these western Serbs religion meant everything -- were told to assemble in their church. Then the church doors were locked, the church went up in flames, and men, women and children perished with it.
