I don't know about that. Having Black friends is pretty much of an accomplishment for a white guy. I've never had a Black friend. I've had Jewish friends and Asian friends and even Arab friends, but never a Black friend. And by friend I mean someone who you have invited over to your home, not a mere acquaintance like someone you work with. I've worked with a handful of Black people and we were on amiable terms, but not friends. Moreover, none of my White friends (or Asian friends or Arab friends) have ever had a Black friend and most of them were liberals or leftists. You know, the kind that think Castro was an outstanding man. And they all deplored racism, of course. So yeah, having a Black friend is pretty much of an accomplishment, at least in my social circle of white professionals. There are certainly more White anti-racists than there are Whites who have Black friends.
Only if you were a white Anglo-Saxon male was everything always great since they were the ones who made the laws and got to decide things. Tough luck for anyone else. Nothing was "great" or even good if it took roughly a century after the country's founding to be free of slavery and another century to finally get pure, unblocked voting rights. Not even half the time if we're going from the end of the Revolution as a starting point. If it was truly great few if any of those incidents in history that I mentioned would not have happened, ever. But since this is falling on deaf ears, ask a black person about the life their great-great grandparents lived. Ask a Native American about their respective tribe's heritage from years and years before we were born. Go back 100 years into the past and see how "great" everything was for non-white males. In other word, use Google. For the last time, no it hasn't. In fact most black people are quite aware of inner city violence and have gone on to address it. I didn't lie about anything.
