I finally got that diamond in my tooth. Couldn't be happier! When I woke up from the surgery, I noticed that my anus was a little sore... not sure what that has to do with dental work, but hey, I GOT MY GRILL!

This thread is no more irrational than the rest of the Obama-hating propaganda we see a dozen times per day here.

Ya but you have to admit, there are a great number of persons who believe Obamacare to be another "government gives me free stuff" program.

I don't hate President Obama. I love him. Because of him, I finally got that diamond in my tooth I've always wanted. And OH MAN do the ladies like it! But everyone was complaining that the website wasn't working so I thought I'd share some good news and tell everyone that it was working just fine for me. Yet, a sore anus...

There is nothing funny about health care. It is very serious business.

If Obamacare were so bad you'd think you could form a real argument about it.

    FFS man, it's called satire.

Fine, you want a "real argument." So much for trying to have a little fun.

So, without further ado, my "real argument" against Obamacare.

The Affordable Health Care for America Act (HR 3962) is a disaster in the making. Not only is it the largest single consolodation of federal government authority in U.S. history--and one which effects every single man, woman, and child living or dead in the country--it brings together the worst elements of government control over a citizen's personal life and involves the federal government in decisions about said citizen's life that should be a strictly-private matter between doctor and patient. Add to that the inevitable mountains of bureaucracy, typical public sector inefficiency, complete lack of accountability, and disincentive for the best and the brightest to enter the health care field, Obamacare will lead to the total collapse of the best health care system in the world. Currently, the American medical establishment--imperfect as it is--is responsible for more innovation and creation of life-saving medications and cutting-edge procedures than the rest of the world combined. Give Obamacare one decade to fully work its way through the system and it kills every last filament of innovation and invention. From the artificial heart to AZT to Viagra to bionic limbs and incision-free heart surgery, the American medical establishment has done more to improve the quality of life worldwide than any other professional community. Unlike other fiduciary entities, government does not have to rely on creating value to sustain itself: In any given system, government exists solely by the extraction of value from the citizens over which it adjudicates. Because It does not have to compete on the open market, it can conduct its affairs in the least efficient manner possible and simply go back and demand more value be extracted from the citizens. It has no incentive to innovate or to be efficient. You've been to the DMV?

And then consider that the new law contains SIXTY-FIVE THOUSAND PAGES of regulations including my favorite which allows federal agents to enter the home of "high risk" families without a warrant to make sure everything is going along per the federal government's requirements. What constitutes a high-risk family you ask? How about...

    (F) Eligible families that have users of tobacco products in the home.
    (G) Eligible families that are or have children with low student achievement.
    (H) Eligible families with children with developmental delays or disabilities.
    (I) Eligible families who, or that include individuals who, are serving or formerly served in the Armed Forces, including such families that have members of the Armed Forces who have had multiple deployments outside of the United States.

That's right, if you smoke cigarettes, or if your kid gets bad grades, or if your kid wears a helmet to school, or if you SERVE IN THE MILITARY AND ARE DELPOYED OVERSEAS, the federal government considers you a high-risk population and you can expect a knock on your door from Uncle Barack to see that the kiddies are eating steamed broccoli for breakfast instead of Cap'n Crunch.

Oh, and I'm not even going to talk about the fact that the government couldn't even get the damn website to work. But again, I would have been shocked if it had, considering the source. And these are the people to whom you are going to entrust your health care? In the words of my dear departed grandpa, "you can hold a turd in one hand, and a wish in the other... now you tell me which one fills up quicker."

Nah, (*)(*)(*)(*) it, I'm going back to making dentistry anal rape jokes...

Yes, I do live in China. And I pay TOP DOLLAR for my medical care because China is a perfect example of what happens when health care is "free" and run by the bureaucrats. My wife and I go to the western clinic which does brisk business serving an expat community who, for example, expect not to be poked with a used needle...

It's fun to play extremes I suppose. But in practice, it's not quite that kind of game. :)

I've tried five times to simply register. So far it's a no-go. Will try again in the future.
