Just as I highly doubt the 2nd will ever be rescinded, I doubt you would get the support to add language to strengthen the rights of gun owners.

Amendments can be passed...but they require a 2/3 vote in congress....highly unlikely...and 3/4 (38 of the 50) states to ratify it...again...unlikely. Its fine as a thought exercise...but the possibility of an actual amendment is slim to none IMO.

We can certainly do nothing. And we probably will.

Pathetic emotional appeals are embarrassing. Your childs life is at stake any time you drive on the road...do you want to ban cars?

The fact is that there is a .000000167% chance that a mass shooting will occur at any school in the country on any given day. there have been 33 mass shootings in schools since 1982...36 shooters...and there are 170 MILLION current law abiding gun owners. EVEN considering banning the rights of 170 million people because of the actions of 36 people...most of whom have never purchased a firearm legally and in some cases killed to gain access to the guns used...is just stupid...and corrupt.

Of course...if you would like to talk about the 'day to day' school shootings involving gang bangers...again...considering targeting the rights of law abiding citizens because of the criminal acts of scumbags is just....stupid...and corrupt.

Doing nothing is preferential to doing stupid things.

    What is your objective?

Yes...I do accept that there is climate change. But, I doubt it is horseshit.

I didn't say climate change I said the religion of climate change.

Climate change has been happening since the beginning of the planet and has nothing to do with us.

The religion is you must kneel before your electric power to God and eat the bugs to change the weather which is something you can't do which is the front for pushing communism in your government and still bad in you so that you don't resist.

I'm not interested in being like Australia that's backward.

Because you guys yammer on about cherry picked countries incessantly. I’m pointing out the cases of inverse correlation. You can’t have a significant causal relationship when a consistent correlative relationship doesn’t even exist.

Your argument is the equivalent of saying bananas cause auto accidents because you found a case where a guy ate three bananas and then wrapped his challenger around a telephone pole.

I predict you will now eviscerate your own argument not knowing you are doing so!

    Go!

I spelled it out as best I could in the OP.

This is getting repetitious, although you're the first to call my idea "stupid." Take a bow.

So now your story is you didn’t buy this gun? Lucky for you the thread was deleted where we discussed your shotgun the other day….

Reminds me of hysterics who claim any restriction on abortion is part of a war on women.

I guess I don’t see how that would solve anything. What you propose is the exact system we’ve been using for a long, long time. And here we are with everyone right now having the right to move to California or Illinois or Texas or Wyoming if they want different state gun law. And nobody, especially anti gun nuts, seems very happy about it.

Another poster (I can’t remember who) pointed out the problems with firearm rights overlapping with other civil rights and how most traditional forms of firearm control have been racially motivated. I’m not sure how we would deal with that problem.

It is interesting you start this thread though. I had an anti gunner make the same argument to me the other day. He didn’t realize what he was proposing, but he was essentially saying there should be NO federal firearm law. I found that interesting.

Fun thought exercise and an interesting thread. Thanks.

Oh...okay......I'll make it easy for you. Yes, I believe climate change has been impacted by man, in an adverse way.

    Nice fallacious response though!

I was unaware any Thread was deleted. But...good to see that the penny has finally dropped. No...I did not get the gun, but I still intend to. Other things like COVID got in the way.

Matey, the day the likes of you scare me anywhere will be a very long time coming. I kept my comment to just that one word so as to not attract the crabs.

Well to some minor degree sure.

But the religion states that it halted or would have halted the moment we started taking global temperatures but for the industrial revolution.

And we must atone for our sins and sacrifice ourselves to change the weather but you can't do anyway so it's just pushing communism.

So return to telling me how you think a gun is just for killing people cuz that's funny take care of yourself and then to project that psychosis on to others.

Why else does an AR-15 exist other than to kill? If you want to plink...you don't need an AR-15.

I don't know I've never killed anyone with it and I've used it so it's a mystery I guess.
you're going to plink with an AR then I can.

    I don't live in a communist country I can have things I don't need.

Are you not allowed in your country to have things you don't need that must suck.

Yet another reason to avoid becoming more like your country.

Sounds possibly reasonable on the surface. The problem is it opens the flood gates and makes it open season for the crowd that want to take everyone's guns.
