You do worry about it. In fact, the fear of being perceived as a racist has permeated so deep that it now is the first thing you do in the morning... get out of bed and reaffirm to the world how un-racist you are. The thought of somebody mistaking you for a racist scares you to the point of death, so you must do everything you can to convince people that you are not.

So let me get this straight:

A person should have the ability to say whatever they want including offensive, racist, homophobic, sexist etc but other people shouldn't have the ability to call them out on it?

I'm not exactly what would be called a PC person. However, I do realize that there are certain situations that call for a more civil demeanor. If I say something off-color, I would expect to have someone mention it.

To me, this anti-pc bull(*)(*)(*)(*) is along the same line as "reverse discrimination". It's just a dog-whistle for right-wingers who feel the need to disparage whole groups of people. It is the attempt of racists to justify the trash that they wish to spew.

Ideology is the infection, without ideology all the next things would not be in the minds of the masses and in society.
Things of today are: the 'race' card, sex/gays issues, global warming, 'left', 'right', 'centre', 'democracy', political labels, 'libertarianism', TP is not Boston TP, mind control/psywar, propaganda, state terror/inside job/false flags, invasions, state tv/MSM/'social' media/movies, politics/parties, capitalism/banking/FED, revolution, and much more going on.
Not only 'leftist' stuff, also 'rightist' stuff (system stuff that is) Because the system is at war with the people, and need all this stuff to reach absolute control and power over the people.
Some things are turned upside down to cause political struggle between people, like global warming, 9/11, moonlandings, and such subjects.
The minds of the masses are bombarded with all this stuff, going one over a century now.
Once you see the whole picture you begin to realize how insane the world is we live in today. The most trouble things are elections and revolutions, those two things can take the power from the people (Greece is going this path, going deeper and deeper) If Greece is taken over by the 'elites'/establishments, this will be the warning for the other countries/populations, in Europe, and the rest of the world. This process (economically/politically) will go like a wild fire through the world (because all this power and control is needed to create a global empire, because that is what history is full of)

I thing homosexuality is not normal, but I have a live and let live stance. What one does in the privacy of their bedroom is no one's business. I don't think marriage is appropriate as it's a tradition defined as a union of a man and woman - going back thousands of years.
I favor civil unions for gays. I see it as a reasonable solution.

I understand liberals think the constitution is stupid and can be disregarded at will. But why?

Excuse us Conservatives for misunderstanding the daily liberal bash of our freedoms, of the successful or rich and of our Constitution as being 'HATE'. I suppose you libs think you're in love with those all- American ideals. LOL!

    Respectfully.....therin lies the problem.

You say "What one does in the privacy of their bedroom is no one's business"....but what they do in the privacy of thier own bedroom is why you think they shouldn't be allowed to get married.

    I'm confused???

No, there are constant racist comments, some of which get called on their racism. Then the calling of racism on racism gets called a false accusation.

"I just think black people are violent criminals. I'm not racist."

A brazenly dishonest attempt to argue ad hominem by clipping the context you don't want to address:

The freedom of speech protects both the person who says offensive things, and the person who expresses an opposing opinion.

    :sigh:

Why don't you just tell us how you differ from your grandfather Barry Goldwater's Conservative ideals by telling us how a liberal like yourself relishes our freedoms and our Constitution. There are many here just sitting on the edge in anticipation of your all-American answer.

Exactly. My proverb for the day.. It is better to admit you are a racist than to whine like a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) and be a racist still

I have read threads on this issue a couple of times, brought up by both sides of the racist divide. Each time I'm baffled by some of the responses, like perhaps I am not reading the same site as they are. I have not taken note of these terms (racist, homophobe, bigot) be thrown around inaccurately though I am sure examples can be found. I do however see an enormous amount of bigoted garbage.

Well, I can think of a good reason to be PC. As a student, I am told to find the value of X, not find X. Why might you ask?

It's not so much me. I hate PC and people here who know me know that.
It's other people who don't realize how much they've restricted their own free speech. I provided reason in the OP. You can review it.

    An interesting view.

The english language is both rich and diverse. Only limited by your own imagination. To what degree has PC free speech limited this discourse and what are the words you want to say but can't?
