It's 7:15 pm here in Oklahoma and I am waiting on the game to start. I'm thinking Alabama can "upset" LSU in this one, though it's probably going to be close. What are your picks?
That LSU gets the (*)(*)(*)(*) kicked out of them. Was I right? Did LSU practice the last 4 weeks? WTF have they been doing? Somebody watch Jefferson's bank accounts for the next 12 months, there has to be a large sac of money coming before long. Nobody can suck that bad. I actually quit watching after that long pass at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. (*)(*)(*)(*)ing Tigers. How the (*)(*)(*)(*) do you suck that bad after such an awesome year???
Of course we know Alabama's defense is real good, but that was a pretty sorry LSU offensive "performance". You woulda thought that the other LSU QB(Lee) would of at least had one "O" series shot, especially when it became painfully obvious that it wasn't happening for Jefferson.
I give you this link b/c tiger nation is asking the same (*)(*)(*)(*)ing question! But we have been asking that all year since Lee got benched b/c??????: http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/b/6/LSU-Score-Board.aspx That by far was the worst offensive display I have seen from an LSU team ever. And it is probably the best LSU team ever.
I missed the game as I had Lodge tonight, but as soon as we were closed cell phones were out checking the recap.
we all will question Miles' decisions or lack of. It's almost as if LSU felt they deserved the title and didn't need to earn it. In any event, Saban coached the team well and had them prepared. I don't think any team could have stood a chance against Bama last night. Those kids earned that trophy. I look at the AP top 5 and see 3 SEC teams. I look at the top 25 and see 5 SEC teams nuff said So, Richardson enters the NFL and Lacy steps up, will Bama really lose anything? I see another dominant Bama team next year with Petrino's boys giving everyone else except Bama a hard time. Bama in the BCS championship next year and it will be a travesty if the Hawgs aren't in the Fiesta. The most fun in the SEC next year will be to see if muskrat can get the Gators to .500 I think they will be a 7 loss team
I heard this game had lower ratings than the first matchup a few months ago. Thats pretty bad PR for the college game.
Actually, Bama loses more then LSU does....lol. LSU will have a stronger team next year, with a better QB...lol. All of LSU's RBs are back, they don't lose any WRs, unless Randle goes pro. We lose 2 LBs, 1 OL, probably MoClaiborne and that is it.
I heard on the news that the LSU bus was still stuck in N.O.,apparently someone painted a goal line in front of the bus. And Les Miles will not change the bus driver. Too soon? LOL
heck, they could have painted a 50 yard line and it wouldn 't cross that either your post was a very good one
Well, thank you! Do I get 10000000 internets points for it? LOL BTW, I'm from Louisiana,so its ok for me to pick on them! Man,it was horrible.
the loss will either destroy them or make them one mean and nasty bunch watch out for the Hawgs next year but petrino needs an anger mgmt course and what's going on in Gainesville; lemme check....................oh yeah, nothing!!!! I bet if Fl plays Vandy next year that Vandy will win
Prior to the opening kickoff of last night's BCS Championship Game, I really thought the game was about a tossup--just as the double overtime, 9-6 contest earlier this season, between these two powerhouses, would tend to indicate. Still, Alabama thoroughly dominated. No doubt about it. In the end, I am glad Bama won. Not because of any particular loyalty--broadly, I am an SEC fan; and whatever the outcome, one SEC team was certain to win, and another equally certain to lose--but because of strategic reasons: Alabama is now the BCS National Champion--in effect, the official national champion--even though it lost, a little while back, to the runnerup. And on its home field, yet. This may tend to put more pressure upon the powers that be to institute a true national-championship playoff system--one that Oklahoma State, Boise State, and a few other teams and their fans would surely welcome. It may well be that the Crimson Tide is the best team in the nation at this time. After watching its near-flawless performance in the BCS Championship game--zero turnovers, and just one (five-yard) penalty--it is really hard to argue that it is not. But is it possible that another team--also, perhaps, a team with just one loss at the end of the regular season--might have prevailed, in a playoff system? Maybe. We will just never really know...
Just read that the BCS is in talks with the conferences about a 4 team playoff starting in 2014. Slowly, we are getting there. 4 isn't enough in my opinion, I think the top 16 should be in it, or at the very least top 8. They also need to stop the insane 44 days b/w final games and the bowls. Give a 2 week max bye, then at least a bowl everyday until the BCS series.
I doubt 16 teams would ever be a reality. That would usually have the two teams in the finals playing a 17 game season.
How, then, do you suppose it is possible for those athletes in Division II schools to endure a 16-team playoff post-season?
In the NFL, just the regular season alone is 16 games--a figure that excludes both pre-season and post-season games. And, of course, Division II college football does have a playoff system...
You do realize that the majority or D2 schools play a 10, or at max 11 game season? Meaning at the end of a 16 team tourney, the 2 teams in the finals will have played many games (14) as a D1 team that won their conference and played in a bowl game.
Wonderful news! Do you have a link? (I would like to read any elaboration on this that may be out there in cyberspace.) Edit: I just now found this link: http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefoo...son-format-including-four-team-playoff-011012 It seems to confirm what you have already noted.
