Denver has a great defense, one of the best running games in football, regardless of who carries the ball, and now, PEYTON MANNING. He looks FINE,and is chucking the rck with AUTHORITY in Denver.

They are a cinch to make the playoffs in the weak AFC West, and might just "Shock the World" this year.

    Go #18 !

oh see now Gronk you hatin now. let's see what TO has done for us lately.

In 2010 he had 9 TD's and 983 yds with his longest TD 70yd bomb from Fitzpatrick. just 3 TD's below Greg Jennings(12) and Megatron(12)

oh and Gronk, you better tune into NFL TONIGHT, because last night they were talking about how TO was making circus catches in Seahawks practice.

i might just pick him up on my fantasy team as a solid #2 WR

Tonight in Philadelphia we get to see whether the new kids (Adams and DeCastro) can shore up the Steelers' O line. For all the winning they do (and they do plenty) the Steelers have been playing with a committee rather than a cohesive offensive line for years. The top draft picks were dedicated to fixing this situation once and for all and finally give Ben some protection on his blind side. Sure hope they prove their mettle!

Peyton's first drive as a Bronco ends in an interception...Hope to see a lot of that this year!

I agree 100%...If our O-Line is strong and our running game is formidable, there is an excellent chance that Roethlisberger and the D will carry us to another SB victory this year...What's the "Crotch of the Tri-State Area? Matamoros???

East Liverpool. Down river from Pittsburgh about 42 miles. Across U.S. Route 30 about 35 miles and about 25 miles as the crow flies. Right where Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio all slap together.

Oh, that tri-state area...I'm a transplanted McKeesporter the other way on Route 30, who has lived in southern California almost all my life, but have remained a Pirate-Steeler-Panther fan...I wonder how our defensive backfield will shape up this year? We have been getting burned deep too much the last couple of years...Looks like our 2nd stringers got lit up last night by a rookie QB...

Good question! Maybe Ike Taylor has lost a step. The Ryans (Clark and Mundy) can get burned from time to time and Clark can't play at Mile High due to illness. If Polamalu stays healthy, there's absolutely no problem there.

And how 'bout them Buccos? I knew if I just lived long enough, the losing season streak would end.

Anyone else weirded out seeing Peyton Manning playing in a Broncos uniform?

I thought I entered the twilight zone.

I will never get used to him as other than a Colt.

I heard McFadden played well, which is nice to hear.

I think the AFC West is going to be a lot of fun this year...

yeah, he was the only play on both teams that played well. the Raider D-line was formidable, they will wreak havoc on RB's and QB's this year. Palmer stunk it up, Heyward-Bey, Ford all dropped balls that led to straight up TD's.

Romo was terrible. Cowboy O-line is a bleeding ulcer, the Defense is ok, didn't see a stud RB on the team.

    predictions for 2012:

    Raiders 7-9

    Cowboys -5-11

LOL - I hope you're right about the Cowboys (but not the Raiders).

I saw that the final score was 3-0. God, that must have been excruciating to watch.

Hopefully this week's games will be better. Tonight, we've got Bengals at Falcons (not a bad match-up) and the Packers spanking the Browns at Lambeau (yawn)...

It was actually pretty exciting to watch. the Raider Defense was all over Romo and they even put Witten out the game, maybe for the whole season(I hope...lol)

I was just frustated at all the drop balls by the Raider WR's...WIDE OPEN drops.

That's ugly, and it couldn't have made Palmer look any better than he did. Hopefully, they'll get it out of their system before September.

As for Witten, I read that he's out for a month. The Cowpies are hoping he'll be back for the regular season opener, which is mighty optimistic for a dude who's got a lacerated spleen. Romo's gonna be lost without his security blankie...

I'm happy. I can't stand the Cowboys. Romo will be the sack leader this year. the Cowboy O-line is an open wound.

Losing Witten won't help that line, either.

I wish I could say the situation is better with the O-Line on my favorite team (Redskins) but I can't - it's a MASH unit right now. To make matters worse, the only position where there's any depth is at TE, and that's not gonna cut it.

RG3 will need to use his legs day one and prove he belongs. Shanahan can make him look bad or good depending on his maturity level.

Which brings us back to the O-Line again. Everyone knows that a rookie QB's best friend is a good running game and Shanahan is more than willing to grind it out on the ground if he can, but the O-Line's ability to deliver is the big question mark. One guard is hurt, another is coming off a blown ACL and the right tackle is out indefinitely. Not only are the injuries a problem, but the injuries are going to create continuity problems. You're right - RGIII is going to be relying on his legs from day one...

Then look for RG3 to be in shotgun/draw/option plays until defenses catch on.

That would be wise. Shanahan had him under center last week but I think he's just playing his cards close to the chest in the preseason...

No offense but I don't like shanahan. he likes to force the issue which is why his RB's don't last long. he overworks them. He's not a QB's friend. Elway was the only one that could tolerate him or understand his madness. which is why he loves to run the ball and play defense. I feel for RG3's first year under center. but as long as they beat Dallas I'm good.

Shotgun would be far better for him with that line. At least give him some time to take a 1 or 2 step drop and throw some gun quick game. He doesn't have the protection to run an under center 5 and 7 step game.
