It's been out for around a month I guess, but tonight is the first time I've tried it.

I'm not impressed. The only good thing I can say about it, is that at 6% it produces a decent buzz. It smells like plain Budweiser but just a bit sweeter and less hoppy, and taste much like popular high alcohol content beers such as Steel Reserve, and Hurricane. It has that same malty, sweet, high alcohol after taste as you'd expect from the typical high alcohol content beers, but to a lesser degree. There really isn't anything impressive about it's taste. It really doesn't even taste like Bud Light.

    I can't say I'd recommend it.

    Anyone else tried it yet?

I have...the bottle is purty and it gets you drunk quicker....other than that, I prefer my Corona....with lemon, not lime. :)

I'd take a Corona over one of these Platnums any day.

But I guess I should reserve some judgement until morning arrives. If it manages to produce this kind of buzz while being easy on me the next day, I should give it more credit. It's been my experience that light beers typically leave one with less of a hangover.

What do you mean by less Hoppy? .Because even Beer drunks
differ on what Hoppy means.I Homebrewed for 5-6 years and
    am still confused.

As I understand it, hops tend to create a bitter or sour taste... which this beer is totally lacking. Even something like Guinness seems to have a drier finish.

You often hear a beer guy talk about a hoppy beer.
Does that mean one more bitter.because that is what
the British mean.Their Bitters. But British Beer are stronger
usually being Ales.I don't belive the Brits have a Pilsner.
Which is what yer talkin about.A Pilsner with a soft lager taste.

Pale Ale is sort of odd as far as categorization goes. It's an ale, but taste very hoppy. In a nutshell, malt=sweet, hops=bitter/sour.

had it and i really dont care for it, good for a major headache in the morning only with a few of them. this is coming from a dude who can kill 12 beers easy and not feel sick or slobbin ass drunk, but this Platinum stuff takes the fun out of drinking and really hurts in the morning lol.

No kidding? It was pretty easy on me, had 8 of them and I only had one glass of water afterwards (usually 3-5... helps with hang over).

Perhaps a second test is in order :D it'll have to wait though... not a fan of it's flavor.

i only had 5 and it had me a lil on the loopy side and calling for bed way earlier than usual when i do drink lol. and yeah but in the morning my hangover felt pretty brutal. i dont even know if i wanna try it again cus i hate wasting the moments of when i do actually go out lol.

i may try it again down the road, but it will probably be a night when im already home lol.

It does have that going for it. I could feel it creeping up before I was through the first one.

Not my typical fare either, but I was drawn in by the cool looking bottle.
