Those so called distinguished law professors are either stupid, or lying. One was even involved in two different attempts to overturn election results via unconstitutional means. According to you all, that a crime punishable by imprisonment.

If we bar everyone from holding office, who violated their oath, then no politician can run for office...lol

Biden isn't supporting the Constitution. He is violating his oath to "faithfully execute" the law

Regardless of or inclusive of these considerations, while an individual occupies the role and responsibility of the office of the President of the United States, under what circumstances do his or her words not carry the full force and authority of the position?

    the key word is "reasonable"

nothing about defending trump can be reasonable..

the guy is facing 91 indictments ...and if found guilty of only one he becomes a convicted felon

at some point, the other republicans will grow a pair and attack him..they all cannot be trumps VP

it will be the other GOP candidates that bring him down if they are serious about winning

the slogan of rhonda santos and any other serious candidate will be .."I wont serve from a prison cell"

Rama saw Amy will have a different slogan ...his will be..."as Vice President, I will visit trump once a week in prison"

obviously, the democrats cannot bring him down, but the democrats can spank him

    trump has no defense..

I have seen with my own eyes and heard with my own ears the actions and words of trump

when trump is found "not guilty" on every single one of the 91 charges..

I will then discuss his validity as a candidate

    till then

trump is just a loser who already lost to biden by nearly 8 million votes

When few people respect him. That’s where Johnson and Nixon were at the end of their terms. Biden is headed there.

Trump is a threat you your communist agenda. That's why you hate him and his supporters.

Your hatred is born out of fear and nothing else.

I am a retired millionaire ..I got nothing to fear

I have no political agenda other than keeping an insane convicted felon out of the Whitehouse

and I do not hate trumpers and Qaloons...but I must admit...both groups are disgusting.

Are you asserting that while holding the office a person's authority to wield the full force and authority of the office depends upon popularity polls?

As in, supposing an extreme scenario as but one test of your assertion, North Korea nukes Seattle, the President cannot exert the full force of the office by authorizing a counter-strike, if his poll numbers are down, or if he is suspected of crimes or treason?

Can a President suspected of having been blackmailed by Russia, attend a secret meeting with its leader, and then order the withdrawal of US troops from a region contested by Russian interests - prompting the resignation of the Secretary of Defense?

You inherited your money. Didn't you?...lol

    Trump hasn't been adjudicated insane.

    He hasn't been convicted.

Finding someone disgusting is the same as hating them

Finally, it's White House, not Whitehouse.

You might want to reread the question and consider if you've written your response appropriately.

As it stands now, you've asserted, "Never." This means in response to my question, as I wrote it, that whoever holds the office of the President carries the full force and authority of the office at all times.

But then you seem to contradict yourself, apparently asserting that there is no force or authority in the office at all.

It's a real pleasure to debate with you Bill, you really offer a depth of insights to your tribe's take on US politics that I hadn't really considered before. Thanks.

I assume you are responding to my last sentence. Which SecDef resigned after Obama commanded a withdrawal of US troops?

Well, good thing for Bush and Trump and the American people that we don't elect our president based on a popularity contest, eh?
You do recall that we use a different process to elect our president, right? The electoral college?

NH will be ordered by the court to put Trump's name on the ballot, if it comes to that. They are scared to put Trump's name on the ballot because they fear that he will wipe the floor with Bribed Biden.

Not a lot of hispanic voters in NH, but they are a proxy of sorts for the Working and Middle Class that previously might have leaned toward Dems.

    They don't like Bribed Crooks.

    Biden's Hispanic vulnerability.

William Baude is a Professor of Law at the University of Chicago Law School, where he teaches federal courts and constitutional law. His current research papers include "Adjudication Outside Article III" and "Constitutional Liquidation." He is also the co-editor of the textbook, The Constitution of the United States.

Michael Stokes Paulsen is Distinguished University Chair and Professor of Law at the University of St. Thomas, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A graduate of Northwestern University and Yale Law School, he is author of two books and more than ninety articles on various topics of constitutional law.

Do you think anyone would really accept your uninformed opinion over two accomplished constitutional experts?

    J. Michael Luttig has been pointing out pretty much the same thing I've observed since my original thread here at PF about it.

Never tried them Southern Style, but honeycomb tripe and pigs feet in a properly cooked batch of menudo is awesome.

Very few people want trump off the ballot — it almost guarantees a Biden win. The voters have voted against him two times and his polling numbers are lower than they were in either of those.

Plus I would love to see the response from the red caps.

The president can call out the armed forces if we are attacked, and he can order the FBI to go after those who disagree with his policies, as the Biden Administration is doing now. The trouble comes when he tries to whip up political support for his agenda.

Democrat Senators and Congressmen are mostly sheep most of the time, but if the president is pulling them down to the point where they might lose their seat, the rats will abandon ship. That happened with Johnson and Nixon. It might happen to Biden, and it might the scenario that will force him to retire before the 2024 election.
