NFL Announces ‘Black National Anthem’ Will Be Performed at Super Bowl

The silver lining is white people owned them.

 

I’m almost 100% certain no black person today would consider anything regarding slavery a silver lining, on a widespread level anyway.

Slavery in chattel form from the early America days may be well over, but the effects of things that happened post-slavery and even during the latter parts of the 20th century are not.

 

How is that a positive?

I’m pretty stunned you made it anywhere near college at all, judging by some of the subpar posts you’ve made in this thread alone.

Anyway, the whole backstory about that anthem was explained and posted in here a lot and you still are having a very hard time grasping the idea that the anthem is well over a century old and has almost always been considered the “black national anthem,” meaning this is not a new thing.

What has slavery effected today?

 

How does any of this information negate or change what happened to black slaves in America? What about this makes stuff like the transatlantic slave trade better or not as bad? Is that supposed to be like a “gotcha” moment?

 

Black peoples trust in a lot, for one. You’ll note that I also added “post-slavery” in my last post.

 

Which never would have occurred if black people didn't initially capture and sell them, but you will never criticize black people even if they captured and sold slaves - somehow you will ultimately call it white supremacy.

 

Pretty sure slavery existed in Europe at that time as well and even before that at some point.

 

You only seem to want to blame certain people for slavery and not others - and the only people you want to blame are white people. PERIOD!

How does slavery impact anyone today, give me examples. Then tell me how it's my fault and that I should wash the feet of blacks who were never slaves.

This isn’t about blaming or not blaming anyone, this is me asking what was the point of bringing up the first slave owner in America being black?
