Ford has nothing. No one she named will corroborate her story. They flat out deny it happened.

He’s our next SCOTUS, and he’ll surely remember vile Democrats. Way to shoot yourself in the foot, Dems

To be honest I think the president should just find another conservative justice. I don't think this battle is worth the fight. You can nominate another conservative judge without this baggage. I am not 100% certain that Ford is telling the truth but she seemed credible enough that it is possible. This is not a left wing victory in the sense the supreme court is getting a liberal judge. It will just be another conservative judge.

No. The Dems did themselves a huge disservice, and I hope our new SCOTUS remember Dems behavior toward him forever. Just like SCOTUS Thomas always does.

I'm sorry I can't remember specific examples beyond the direct question of whether or not he wanted an FBI investigation - that was avoided and danced around several times. He was asked, several times, to answer a question because the senators were running out of time.

I did not follow the Clarence Thomas nomination. It was almost 30 years ago and I didn't care about supreme court nominations at that time. Recently I watch I few clips of Anita Hill from those hearings back then and I don't think Clarence Thomas would make it on the supreme court today. I haven't seen all of the testimony but her allegations and story seemed very damming.

Hard to say, he was and he still is a tough cookie, and a very nice, fair Constitutionalist. We need another one just like him.

His desire has no bearing on it.
Why should he answer a politically charged question? He was there to answer questions about alleged sexual assault on Ford. They had a chance to ask him any questions that they had.
It's up to them to call for an investigation

Biden explained it best. Dems are deliberately trying to string this out forever, if every time a new accuser comes forward, we have a new FBI investigation, he'll never get confirmed, which is the goal of these nasty vile Democrats that exploited Ford.

You see I think that is part of the problem that I have with Kavanaugh defense. What you said about Thomas can be absolutely true but he could also have sexually harassed Anita Hill too. Those things are not mutually exclusive. That is what I did not like about Kavanaugh defense today. He kept stressing he was a good student, hard working athlete/weightlifter, church member and even a virgin like that somehow those type of attributes in a person would make it impossible for them to ever attempt to rape or grope a girl. I think all those things can exist in the same space.

It's nothing but a contrived delaying tactic, launched by radical Democrats who are desperate to destroy Kavanaugh. The man has already been investigated by the FBI no less than SIX TIMES! And what would be the reason for 'FBI Investigation #7"? Dredged-up recollections gleaned during 'therapy sessions' six years ago about things that supposedly happened during high school over 36 years ago -- with absolutely NO proof, and NO evidence?

This whole thing is nothing more or less than utter, complete, despicable NONSENSE and deliberate character-assassination!

The GOP will try to confirm Kavanaugh.

The dems rightfully Garlanded the pubs, so the latter can live with it.

Will try? After the Dem stunt, he's already as good as SCOTUS, and he'll remember Dem treatment, even though he's supposed to be blind.

    He won't.

Kavanaugh has already had 6 FBI background checks. The only people who haven't had an FBI background check are the accusers.

Vote to confirm Kavanaugh now and the start FBI background checks on the accusers and if they are found to have made false allegations, then charges should be filed against them.

    Oh! And there's this....

Indeed, but it was just an allegation. And allegation is not conviction, absent of which SCOTUS Thomas is absolutely innocent.

    Same with judge Kavanaugh.
