    The FBI already did a background check on him and besides, the senate can seat anyone it chooses to.

    McCain should have been booted from the Party over his scandalous vote on the repeal of ObamaCare.

    He won't say that he would support an FBI investigation which leads me to believe that he has something to hide. His aggressive
    reactions are those of someone who could be a nasty drunk. And it is obvious that he did a lot of drinking.

    An investigation into the accusations has not been attempted and he won't agree to support one. He knows that the committee won't ask for one.

    I changed my mind, Kavanaugh is getting confirmed. He is killing the Democrats right now. It's clear, all they want to do is stall this confirmation and their repeated efforts to stall are not lost on anyone.

    He did himself no favors by making such partisan and political comments in his opening statement. That, combined with his avoiding direct answers to questions, is showing him to be a nominee not fit to be on SCOTUS. This feeling has nothing to do with the Ford case or the accusations - just on how he is handling himself.

    Exactly what is there for the FBI to actually investigate in this matter? No complaints were ever filed with either law enforcement, or the school at which these individuals were students. Ford herself either cannot, or simply will not, provide a date for when the incident supposedly transpired, or the place in which the incident supposedly transpired. There are no records to go on, and anyone who may have been working at the location at the time will have long since been retired, and replaced by new individuals who were not present for the incident, and thus cannot tell anything one way or another.

    So explain, precisely what is there for the FBI to actually investigate? What information do they have to go on?

    It would be a matter for local law enforcement.

    And local law enforcement was never alerted to what happened. The statute of limitations has long since expired, meaning legally no crime was ever committed even if the incident did play out as is being claimed by Ford. And if legally no crime was committed, legally nothing happened.

    He did say, he would abide by what the panel does. I think he hopes they won't open one.
