Because the PEOPLE were the militia because the founders did not believe in a centralized federally funded military back then! They EXPECTED that every able bodied man (and even women in some instances) to be ready at a moment's notice to defend their communities. You should really educate yourself and read the federalist papers. That would help you to understand the Constitution.

I don't care that you don't think they are facts or not. You don't believe they are because you disagree with them. It is very convenient for you. I am not the one being childish. I own my guns for two reasons. Self protection and family heirlooms. The family heirlooms I don't shoot. The .45 ACP I have is for protecting my home. I don't need to have a toy rifle to play army with. You can call that childish but it is the opposite of childish. What is childish is people owning weapons because they are cool, because they like how they feel, because they like how they look with them, because it annoys other people and because they have military wannabee fantasies.

Your entire post and your outlook seem to be very childish to me.

Nope. To suggest what I am saying is childish is just a way to dismiss it out of hand without dealing with it...which, ironically, is childish.

The facts are clear. Most people own assault weapons as toys to be used for their hobbies and their own personal, recreational or psychological enjoyment. That makes them toys. I understand that this is a harsh reality that many gun owners don't want to face but it is the hard truth. I, and many other people, feel that if banning assault weapons prevents one mass casualty shooting event then it is worth it because no want to own such a dangerous toy should interfere with common sense regulation.

Calling guns "toys" is the first clue to how childish your outlook and your posts really are! *smh*

Truth hurts too much...I get it. Sorry but I am through debating this topic on gun rights activists terms. You guys want to have these weapons for you own recreational use. To own something for mere pleasure of recreational use is a toy. Much like ATV, a dune buggy, a jet ski, a cigarette boat a Lamborghini etc. etc. Your inability to come to terms with the obvious truth is what is childish.

Each year 90,000 people die as a result of "binge drinking". That is preventable if we banned alcohol (again) right?

    - - - Updated - - -

Why is the 2A in the Bill of Rights, and what is the purpose of the Bill of Rights?

    - - - Updated - - -

Since .45's were standard military issue, one could argue the same thing against you. They would just have to "out-liberal" your liberalness.

    - - - Updated - - -

You got any data to back up your AR15 baloney?

Besides, you've already admitted you own guns for "heirloom" purposes, so you've admitted to the same thing.

If the Orlando shooter did not know those killed and injured, did not plan the attack to kill Joe Blow or Betty Blow, then those killed and injured were an accident.
If you're driving down the road obeying all laws and another vehicle crosses and collides and kills you...it was an accident.
Accident equals wrong place at the wrong time!
You're getting hung up on the word 'accident' which is really dumb!
Your stupid argument is that 50 people killed in Orlando by a gun is more important than 93 people killed the very same day in auto incidents?! Why aren't you whining about the 93 people killed every single day? How are 50 people killed more important to you than 34,000 killed?
It's a 1000 times more dangerous to get in your car today than to attend a night club...

You're answer can not be taken seriously. The shear nonsense of the first sentence is beyond reason.
By your reasoning (can't say logic because that is nonexistent in your response) the people at the club were at the right place at the right time.

    OH...YOU GOT ME!!
Wait.....the post said 90000 dies from BINGE drinking not alcohol related (like psoriasis of the liver and such) and they were trying to make the point of 30000+ dying in car accidents and why aren't people outraged when if you look at the chart auto deaths are down from 50000 a year in the past 30 years. I'm thing that's because of better restrictions.
Your 2014 statistic is not relevant. That's taking it on a tangent that does't matter to the subject......but you have fun with it.

That's "cirrhosis." Lol! Too funny. Psoriasis is a skin disease. :) 2014 is the last study I found. Care to quote your own study? Go for it.

And you are continuing to make the argument that even if the provided information is the same, the manner in which it is structured completely changes its meaning. It is an argument that you cannot support with actual proof.

    - - - Updated - - -

And you have, once again, failed to actually prove your argument as being valid. You have provided no evidence of actual support.

Which non-gun owners would not want to be armed with an AR-15 if a perp was threatening them with one?

Then it is difficult to take anything you have said seriously, when you apparently engage in the consumption of alcoholic beverages to the point of losing coherency before becoming involved in a discussion.

What do you think CAUSES cirrhosis? Could it be heavy drinking perhaps?

The facts are facts your ignorance in firearms notwithstanding. Again I have a specific logical purpose for my .45. I only shoot about once a month for maintenance purposes otherwise it is locked up in a smart safe for personal defense of my home. No one is trying to take that right away from anyone. We just don't think your "right" to own a toy trumps societies right to pass common sense legislation.

Your senator DIFI admitted if she had the votes, she would have passed a law that would have confiscated all the weapons that were banned by the clinton AWB

so you are not telling the truth and when you call guns a toy and dismiss the second amendment as protecting toys, we cannot find anything you say about guns to be "common sense"

common sense laws punish criminals. Laws that are directed only at law abiding citizens are not common sense unless your real goal is to harass gun owners which it clearly is

You really shouldn't own a 45, it's a weapon of war. That thing is an assault pistol.

Does it make you feel more manly owning it...keeping it in your safe to pull it out and gush over it's awesomeness? Why do you treat guns like toys?
