Thank you, I genuinely appreciate it. But the truth is, I'm good! I am very aware that by any stretch of the imagination, people should have been attending my going away party (I have no interest in some grim "funeral", I want people to get together, get shitfaced, and tell all the stories about me, good and bad, and have a great time laughing and crying. But I guess it's not time for that just yet!), instead of continuing to put up with me. My wife, to whom I give the credit for my survival as she was at my bedside day and night for months, all while working a full-time job and maintaining our household, with the sudden and complete elimination of my income (I was self-employed), and frankly, all the while fully expecting that I wasn't going to survive has been simply amazing taking care of me day and night. My real friends have been there, and those that never were showed their true colors, and while you might think being stuck in bed all day sounds excruciating, I've made the absolute best of it.

I AM a computer gamer, with a penchant for flight sims, and I've built myself a little nest here with all my gear, so I spend a lot of time flying A320s and F/A18's. If you like combat flight sims, I can't recommend one called "DCS World" strongly enough. It's difficult, though, because if you get one of the full fidelity planes, they're pert near as hard to fly as a real one (which I love, even if it frustrates me from time to time), and if civilian planes is more your style, the latest version of MS Flight Sim is the bomb, and speaking of ultra-realistic sim aircraft, a 737 was just released that is so high fidelity, if you learn it properly, you could probably fly a real one. That's true of the F/A-18C in DCS as well.

I do miss our little sex parties, though, but I'm getting stronger on a daily, so who knows...

Most of the time I'm quite chipper though, I know how close I came, but I also know that whatever the "us-ness" is that makes us, well, us survives the death of our bodies, and that we get to (though some might consider it "have to") start all over again living life after life after life, and by no means always as humans on Earth. Xtians get awfully pissy when I tell them that, though, which amuses the crap out of me. They don't like finding out that if you believe the wrong things, you don't actually have to spend all of eternity being tortured. I guess the retribution aspect appeals to them a lot, which is kind of sad when you really think about it.

But anyway, this thread is not about me, and I've done far too much to derail it as it is, so back to being schooled (no pun intended) by liberals about why teachers actually should be able to shame kids because of the sins of their ggggggg-grandfathers.

This is news to me, but if true, it's great news! Communism is an evil form of government that stifles innovation, rewards laziness, and results in populations that are barely (if not actually) able to even feed their own people. Not to mention the iron fist required to keep people in line, and the theft of "the means of production" that must occur just to start such an economy, and the ongoing theft of intellectual property, in the event someone comes up with an actual good idea, and the denial of private property rights like even owning a home.

It was once a given that such things were true, because they are, and we didn't really need to teach it, at least not in any formal way. Being an actual true believer in such a system was rightly something that was shamed and shunned, and could, and would, tend to ruin people's lives should credible evidence come to light that they really were a Commie.

But at some point things changed, and now we have almost as many proponents of that evil form of government and economy as the capitalistic one that launched the United States into its present position as the world's only superpower. All while allowing for the freedoms we have come to expect that to much of the world, certainly but by no means limited to Communistic ones, are just completely foreign.

Yeah, yeah, I know, the only reason it's never worked before is because it was the wrong people in charge.

    Whatevs.

Thats literally political mahamba jamba PAR. Nobody is claiming white people today are bad for slavery 150 years ago. Thats made up by politicians who are doing exactly what they claimed libs were bad for.

Thats NOT part of the CRT cirriculum, nor has it ever been. Teaching the truth about our history is important to our future as a country

Of course. Government enforced "forbidden topics" and "mandatory political classes" lists are great news to you.

Sure, communism is evil, as is slavery, and holocaust, white supremacy etc. However, now we have a tsunami of new laws, and they begin to contradict each other. We can't talk about slavery, because it makes white people uncomfortable. Can we talk about holocaust if it makes kids with German ancestry uncomfortable? Can we talk about communism if there are kids whose grandfathers were commies? It means the government has to be the arbiter of speech and choose topic by topic aka micromanage education. I don't know if its a workable way to run education, because when another party takes control, they are likely to modify the lists to suite their preferences (like putting sex ed, dangers of white supremacy, CRT etc on the mandatory list).

Same people who have spent decades arguing the government needs to stay away from education are now arguing the exact opposite.

Maybe in your neighborhood, but I have yet to meet a single soul anywhere in US who is calling for communism.

WOW. You literally glossed over the fact that CRT is the teaching that :
What does what other countries have to do with these teachings ?

WTF are you on about here Moolk. CRT doesnt teach that. You guys keep making up crap without even understanding what CRT actualy is :

CRT: Critical race theory is an academic concept that is more than 40 years old. The core idea is that race is a social construct, and that racism is not merely the product of individual bias or prejudice, but also something embedded in legal systems and policies.

Sorry if that hurts your feelings, but thats just the facts

So should we not teach about the Holocaust because it may hurt the feelings of some students of German ancestry ?

Race is not a social construct, it's nature governing species. Look at the distribution of various races, they all have a homeland where they live together as community. CRT is trying to erase those lines but they are indelible and that can't be done, we are what we are. Learning to live together doesn't require that one side be blamed for all of our differences.

So the defense is, "races should be separated, as they once were" ?

We learn every day from our history in many different areas. We learn that some countries need to negotiate to make things better between themselves, and we learn that some countries need to duke it out militarily to find that out. But we do that so that we learn and grow as a species. How is this any different ?

CRT is a teaching our literal history. If you feel "blamed" as part of it, then thats on you, but the entire ideal of CRT is that we learn from our own history. We have always learned from our history, so why now is it only the white right wing who feel they're being "blamed". And if the right doesn't see any irony in them making themselves victims, then irony is literally dead

What "sanctimony" ? Thats coming from the right in that they are somehow concerned that it might make them feel "guilty", as the feelings are more important than learning from our history to be a better nation, and a better people.

We learn from our history every day, how is this any different ?

CRT absolutely teaches that. If you disagree then it is you whom doesn’t actually understand what crt is. The facts have proven me correct, your misrepresentation of the facts is not my fault. Your appeal to emotion isn’t working.

and no one has ever said you can’t say why the holocaust happened. Again, you misrepresent the issue and facts surrounding it to justify your unjustified outrage.

So another post of "I know and your wrong...narner naner boo boo"

CRT is the STUDY of laws and policies that were/are racially biased. You guys all act like thats just impossible that that could happen, yet refuse to accept that segregation laws existed in almost every southern state until the 1970's. You also leave out that the US Supreme Court validated segregation as a legal construct in 1896. How is studying these FACTS, any different than studying basic history ?

Crt claims to be what you are saying but that doesn’t make it true. It pushes lies, hate and racism . It’s nonsense pushed as scientific theory. It encourages racism and victim mentality, it shuns people for the actions of thier ancestors, it calls for action on behalf of marxists. It doesn’t just teach… it calls for action.

What do you think was the reason for the Holocaust, the "final solution" as to speak. To not speak about race at all takes away the very essence of why it happened in the first place. You are now going from teaching history to teaching his story.

Furthermore, there are very few instances in history, US and the World, in which race was the primary motivating factor in some of the deadliest human deeds known to man. Holocaust is one of those few examples in which race was an integral part of why the Holocaust occurred.

Does the term cherry picking mean anything to you? If you read the article, the actual quotes were short with no context whatsoever. You need to develop those critical thinking skills, but that would require your synapsis to function a lot more efficiently than they do now.

The Nazi false premise is that the "Aryan Race" was superior to all others. According to HB 1557 and the text I quoted you, that was one of the forbidden topics that I quoted you.

"Aryan Race" originally meant the Proto-Indo-European Language from Sir William Jones. It the 19th century and the rise of anti-semeticism in Europe, the term "Aryan" was adopted to racial supremacy in the mid to late 19th century by Houston Chamberlain, Carl Broka, Karl Penka, Hans Gunther, Theodor Poesche, and Arthur de Gobineau. And that is what Adolf Hitler used in his final solution. That must be taught if one is to truly understand what, when, where, why, and to what extent the Holocaust occurred. As long as teaching is dispassionate, it can be done without the need of HB 1557 and HB 7.

Neither does Project 1776, yet conservatives are far more comfortable with allowing Project 1776 to be allowed in despite all the historical inaccuracies it provides.

Exactly why I said at least you admit climate change is part of this world and always has been. Now why in the hell is manmade climate change which maybe debatable but certainly not a fact, be in a math book as a fact. The problem is it appears at every turn these little wokeism's are inserted in basic teaching points and delivered as facts. Why can't math be math, science by science, english be english and civics be civics without woke BS in Stem subjects?

You didn't get taught in school about slavery, it's English origin, the fact that every race has at one time or another been used as slaves, that America adopted it, fought a civil war to end it, passed laws that all are created equal, that Martin Luther King was icon and wanted all judged not by the color or their skin but by their character? Damn dude were you born in the 20's or something?

YOU are the one claiming moral high ground because it may make someone feel bad to learn our actual history.

CRT is the STUDY of laws and policies that use race to discriminate. The STUDY OF !!!!!!

Its not nonsense, its based on the "study of" which is literally the definition of science:

[QUOTE}SCIENCE: the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.[/QUOTE]

How does the study of something encourage racism that happened in the past ?

Wow, you got a "marxist" in there, thats gotta be worth 5000 points in Conservative Bingo

That's contradictory and that you don't see it is insightful. History should be judged in context if judging is the goal.

Will they start banning physics books that imply the universe is expanding ... cause that might offend the anti-Big Bang crowd ... of course it
would eliminate most of physics, but hey, at least the religious nuts wouldn't be offended.

"All right, students, I want you to calculate the acceleration needed to put a multi-million dollar satellite into orbit - but you have to do without accounting for
the force of gravity, cause we all know that gravity is part of that devil-spawn Big Bang Theory, and that would be offensive to our flat-earthers ...
