Obama admits he is not a natural born citizen. Does it matter to you?

Congress can only impeach a president for "treason, bribery, or high crimes and misdemeanors" by a strict reading of the Constitution. AFAIK, there is no statutory law in the US making it a crime for the president to not be a natural born citizen. That's what I mean by lacking a mechanism to enforce it. This is one example of the poor structure of the Constitution. They have an NBC requirement, but offer no solution if that requirement is violated.

That's not obvious at all. While the Supreme Court does not have the authority to overrule impeachment... they would have a role in this instance, because there would be a significant amount of constitutional interpretation required.

That seems about the only way that this would actually play out--far, far more likely than impeachment. Of course, that would be very bad for Congress if the president was popular and won the election.

Well, there are more chance that the "IF" Boehner story could happen than the "IF" Obama story!

You're correct. Actually, Obama is still very popular in Europe. And the Queen returned Michelle Obama's friendy (if unusual) gesture and is quite fond of Michelle Obama!

I think it's funny how desperate the birthers and Obama haters are! And since they can't find any real issue to blame on him, they are scraping the bottom of the bucket and inventing issues, no matter how insignificants they are!

Actually, the only people the rest of the world is laughing at where Obama is concern is the birther movement!
