When you pay a premium to a health insurance company, you're a "policyholder" - not a "taxpayer". Premiums that policyholders pay come from their personal funds - not the taxes they pay to the IRS and then back to the ins co. But you phrase it any way that makes you feel more indignant. Lmfao!

Believing that anybody is asking college aged women to get sterilized for free is typical of the cluelessness of neverleftistism.

    Wow!

We see the VERY FIRST POST that SOMEONE from the Right FINALLY (faintly) complains about the free goodies for men in health insurance while women get shafted!

    From catholic Church handouts.

They claim they "follow God's Word" but God seems to have NO PROBLEM with the Catholics LYING to suit their political power needs.

    MORE absurdity!

Probably 50 people can have vasectomies or tubal ligation for the cost of ONE accidental pregnancy or pregnancy complication.

    FAIL.

That's what they were doing before and that's why it became such a crisis.

Do you know anybody who now has health coverage that wasn't able to get it before because of a preexisting condition? Do you know anybody who's undergoing long-term life-saving treatment who now doesn't have to worry that the ins co will cancel their policy in the middle of treatment because it's getting expensive for them? Do you know anybody who has a kid in college who's able to keep him/her on their family policy instead of having to buy a separate one or go without until they're 26?

Do you think any of these millions of people are going to support repealing Obamacare when Repubs are back in power and go back to having no coverage and going bankrupt when they get sick?

So if you smash your leg up in a car accident, your insurance shouldn't cover it? After all, that isn't life-threatening but it sure would be inconvenient to drag it around for the rest of your life. Lmfao!

You're going compare a car accident to vigria? Do you realize how asinine that is? FYI a smashed leg is a life threat. See compartment syndrome, see shock.

So why don't you tell me what IS happening here - how the gov't will be paying for BC provided by the ins co with taxpayer funds.

If we both have a policy with the same insurance co, you and all the other policyholders would pay for the coverages I use under that policy and I and all the other policyholders would pay for the coverages YOU use. That's how insurance works.

No, they seem hard to find.

ObamaCare Covers Pre-Existing Conditions: So Why Are So Few People Enrolling?

"According to the MyHealthCafe.com blog, the move is a good one. “Based on PCIP enrollment so far, it may not be an issue. California may have a budget to provide health insurance coverage for 20,000 in its PCIP, but so far only 513 Californians have enrolled in its PCIP. That is still more than the paltry 101 residents of Missouri who have enrolled for health insurance coverage in that state’s PCIP. In contrast, Pennsylvania, which is running its own PCIP and is limiting health insurance premiums to a comparably affordable $283 a month, has enrolled 1,657 in its PCIP, 1,000 more than any other PCIP in the nation. Overall, only 8,000 Americans have enrolled in a PCIP so far. Although Americans with pre-existing conditions were expected to stampede into the newly-formed PCIPs, applications for most of the PCIPs have only trickled in so far. It is astonishing to many who predicted that the PCIPs would be flooded with applications from Americans with pre-existing conditions who have been long-denied health insurance. "

For the life of me, I can't figure out who it is worse to be controlled by - government or insurance companies.

Wow, is this President is trying to throw the election???

1/4 of all voters are Catholic, so he pisses them off by forcing the Church to cover BC and now this.

I can see the Democratic Senators and Represenatives, that are up for re-election, running farther from this guy than the ones in 2010 did.

He's a long, long way from pissing off all Catholics. Over 90% of Catholic women have used birth control. He may be pissing off some priests and bishops who consider themselves to be leaders in the Catholic Church, but they are deluding themselves and shouldn't be given a microphone.

From this comment below the article, it COULD be that a lot of people don't know about it yet. Aren't these coverages scheduled to go into effect July 1 with private insurance cos? It sounds like a lot of changes have been made in the PCIP policies and hasn't been widely advertised.

Your hatred of Obma is so transparent.

Why are you quoting an article that uses November, 2010 (the FIRST MONTH PCIP was in operation) of your figures of "ONLY 8000 Americans have enrolled so far", which the blog's source indicates is from the BEGINNING months of the PCIP program?

Given that I have pointed this out to you before and given you reliable locations to get more current figures instead of ancient figures from a blog, we can only assume your REAL purpose is PROPAGANDA AGAINST OBAMA.

Here are more recent figures, from the end of 2012. Enrollment is exploding with the new year (because of deductibles) so expect later figures to be much larger.

    December 31, 2011.........................48,879

Nearly 50,000 people, many of them have had their lives saved by the program, myself included.

I predict a vast multitude of Catholics, when that voting curtain closes them off from the pious pronouncements of their bishops and priests and nosy old biddies at church, will be pulling the voting lever that means they can have access to birth control, reproductive health care and choice about their bodies.

Only if they live in caves and we declare Obama was lying when he said they were all crying for this coverage. They predicted 350,000 the first year, barely 2% of that signed up.

OH so now two years into the program and 13% of the first year estimate have signed up. How many had they predicted by the end of two years? The lowest estimate was 200,000 per year. So 12.5% of the projected number has signed up. Recall one of the top selling points of Obamacare was that there were millions just lined up for this coverage. And the intial cost? $5 billion. That is $100,000 per enrollie.

So those who were involved in the poll, did not have a "curtain" of security around them?

A 15 point loss among Catholics, as the poll shows, is almost a 4 point loss at the ballot box. This fictional "War on Women" that the Dems keep trying to conjure up, has not improved the Pres. standing among women.
The White House knows this is a looser, as evidenced by the late Friday news dump of this item, and not a mid-week headline.

Thanks! I'd never heard of the program and should've done some research first! ;)

One of the hallmarks of his health care plan, one of it's major selling points and you never heard of it?
