The presidency is a very small club....(only 44). Why would a comparison between one and another be so outrageous? Lincoln was a great president.....if Obama chooses to emulate him, he's not making a poor choice.

What's actually laughable is to hear presidential candidates or other politicians (and their supporters) compare themselves to former presidents.

It is an election season Obama must compare himself to conservatives and the GOP. So he seems moderate so people do not see him as the far left socialist he is.

Way to ignore that the economy still sucks, unemployment is still over 9%, the stimulus failed, people hate Obamacare, and we just got our credit downgraded. Actually, Obama does exhibit some of Lincoln's philosophies and behaviors.

Both were doctrinaire autocrats with no regard for the U. S. Constitution or average middle-class citizens.

Both had open contempt for Congress, and chose to rule almost single-handedly, treating even their own Cabinet members as little more than "office help".

Both crushed underfoot the whole concept of Constitutionally-delineated and empowered individual states rights.

Neither of them showed any interest in the economy of the nation, or even understood anything about the subject except for those of the influences and lobbying of wealthy financial insiders.

I would add that both came from Illinois, but nobody is certain where the hell Obama came from. He was a junior senator from Illinois, but mysteriously holds a Connecticut Social Security number that nobody has ever explained to the public, considering that he was supposedly born in the State of Hawaii....
