Labor Day or NOT, this is odd. Instead of the cache of the PRES playing on their courses, the UPPER CRUST clubs didn't want him there, including Trump's course. Because they didn't want to inconvenience their other players?? Really? WE HAVE A COURSE HERE, EVEN THE RESTAURANT NEARBY HAS FRAMED PHOTOS POSTED WITH AT LEAST 2 PRESIDENTS WHO PLAYED. Yeah, I'm suspicious. (Trump's course, not a bit of a surprise---they probably wanted to see his birth certificate first).

Report: Golf courses turned down Obama round

David Jackson, USA TODAY 8:22 a.m. EDT September 10, 2014

Prominent golf clubs in the New York City area turned down chances to host President Obama last month because they did not want to close their courses to regular guests during the Labor Day weekend, a news report says.

WNBC-TV, citing unnamed sources, says Winged Foot, Willow Ridge, and the Trump National Golf Club were among the courses that rejected the White House requests.

Obama had events in the New York area on Aug. 29 and 30, a Friday and a Saturday, and had planned to spend part of Saturday morning on a golf course, according to the report.

Instead, he flew back to the White House on Friday night, and returned to the New York area on Saturday.

    Reports WNBC-TV:

"Club managers apparently did not want to inconvenience their high-powered and high-paying members over Labor Day weekend by shutting down their courses to accommodate the president.

Good form for the golf courses, dont let the drone killer play on the course. Let him waste our tax dollars elsewhere.

Umm...sorry. This was a business decision, nothing more. A course would have to close completely for any president. Labor Day is probably huge business for them.

See the desperate Done-o-crat trying to pretend skin color is why people don't like Obama?

Hilariously silly. Race is not even on the RADAR SCREEN for the upcoming Demflogging....

It had nothing to do with liking or disliking anyone. It was a business decision.

So people who have paid good money to be a member of a club get to actually use the benefits of their memberships of the club and not have them interrupted by some narcissist-in-chief who has always believed that he was smarter and better than everyone else is a bad thing? Who cares if the President played gold there? Does anyone care if Jimmy Carter or Richard Nixon played golf at a certain course? No, they were bad presidents.

You really need to get off the racist stuff, it's getting a little boring and constant mentioning something, in this case won't be seen as truth...regardless party affiliation.

As for any business, sometimes service is denied, in the interest of their membership or client base, not because they are prominent or of some race....Maybe it's not broadcast very often, but traffic tie-ups caused by all modern day President's, has been an issue...especially in NYC.

Recently, there has been complaints from the other players on the golf courses he frequents.....because they are made to go through pat downs and checks. It's really not fair to the other players who are inconvenienced.

Here's an idea: why doesn't the prez actually do some WORK instead of playing golf almost daily? Libs applauded an entire documentary about Bush, complaining about his golf playing; which wasn't nearly as much as Obama's golf playing. How about some semblance of consistency here from the left?

I wouldn't want a picture of him on my golf course either after what he did after his press conference on Foley. I wouldn't want my course to get a bad name.

Oh, so now Democrats and Blacks don't belong to Country Clubs..my a** they don't. Most 'clubs' have policies. Non-member 'guest players' have to be 'invited' to play by dues paying members. It's the reason dues paying members pay dues. There are plenty of 'quality public courses' to play a round or two on. Obama's a 'public servant', let him play those. The club has every right to deny non-members and it takes some audacity for the POTUS to assume that just because he's the POTUS, all doors are open to him. Besides that, does anyone know whether Obama can even play the sport? Does he shoot in the 70's - 80's - 90's - or, God forbid 100's? (I'd guess the mid to high 80's. scoring in the low 70's sorta requires a lot of time on the practice range and getting out for a round a few times a week). Maybe the club regarded his playing as being a distraction due to slow play and secret service people all over the place. Maybe the club simply respects and enforces it's own bylaws.

Good for the golf courses putting their PAYING members first. Just hope that the club can pass their IRS proctology exam..

This is, by far, one of the more ignorant posts ever on here.

It had absolutely nothing to do with his political party or race.

When a president - sitting or out-of-office - wishes to play golf, the Secret Service comes in and shuts it down so nobody can even get into the parking lot, let along the club house. And this usually occurs weeks in advance so the members and public can be made aware of what is happening.

The managers simply did not want to make those members who pay a great deal to be members to be inconvenienced by the whims of a little child.

Huh? What the heck? How on earth could that happen?

Seems they didn't want to shut out their high income clientèle. So, the poor guy went back to the White House. Boo hoo.

    So what?

Not everyone bends over for the guy.
Who would you rather disappoint.. one president or many guests ?

    Dumb.

I was wondering why this was even thread-worthy.... but now I see you just wanted to get that silliness in.

Just call everyone racist, and get to work on thread #9 for the day...

Why did you wait until post #3 to throw your childish race-bait out there ?

This is, after all, the reason you post, correct ?

Oh the horror, better call your favorite racepimp Sharpton out on this case. How racist, members of a golf course wanting too play golf on labor day, instead of paying for the president and his mob hogging up the whole course.

Really, your threads get more boring and predictable every time you stink up this forum with one.

When the President goes to a golf course, they have to close to the regular paying members to cater to him. I'm sure they'd have no problem doing that on a day a little less popular than Labor Day weekend.

You don't know that anymore than I do. It was bad form, probably an insult! And since you nor I know WHICH courses, politics could very well
be a driving factor and I'm going to speculate here--aren't there still RESTRICTED courses?? A PRES tees off early, gets out the way and everyone can follow a safe distance. Eisenhower, Kennedy, (Nixon sucked so he didn't play much), Bush, Clinton, Bush all PLAYED! (Bush 2 did until one particularly BLOODY IMAGE DAY OF IEDs blowing up soldiers juxtaposed with Bush golfing--THEN he stopped). I have no idea if Reagan played.

Obviously, Obama hasn't visited your local area. It is a major inconvenience to have him visit. He visited Pensacola area during the BP oil spill. Snarled up traffic for hours. If I were a golf club manager, I wouldn't want him at my course for that reason.

You don't know anymore then Leekohler if this was a business decision but somehow you know this was a racial one? Good luck on that logic.
