Weeks ago, when I said as much, and that their latest stunt might just be the end of the R party, folks disagreed. Not sure if we will ever snap out of this D&R grandstanding and choose a third party, or if we will continue to believe lie after lie of the power hungry DC establishment.

Totally agree Shang. If Perry gets in there .. we are truley (*)(*)(*)(*)ed. If Paul or Huntsman can get in there.. mabey we are still (*)(*)(*)(*)ed.. but at least theres hope. If Romney gets in there we will probably languish in limbo for 4 years.. Corporations will be given the right to claim religious institution tax exemption.. itll be great.

You'll get no argument from me on that...AT ALL.

Same with 'just about every' Democrat.

Imo, 90+% of everyone in the House and Senate are worse then useless as politicians.

Don't forget that Obama was in the senate for four of those years of spending he was complaining about. He voted for both the 2005 and 2006 war funding bills. He fought to get a withdrawal dat of 2008 in the 2007 bill before he supported it as well.

So not only did he outspend Bush in his time as president, but he voted for the spending that he condemned in the speech.

OK Bush, supposedly, left odrama with a $1,412 trillion deficit in FY 2009. Since that budget was passed by a DEMOCRAT controlled Congress, I'm not sure how that was Bush since OUR LAW says Congress approves of and spends the money. But The deficit WAS $1,412 TRILLION and was done by Bush or the Democrats or both, before odrama took office.

Prior to the $1,412 trillion deficit, the deficit was $458 billion.

The $458 billion, previous deficit [FY 2008], had nothing to do with the following $1,412 TRILLION deficit. On 09/30 of each year the books are closed on that Fiscal Year.

So WHY was the deficit for FY 2010 $1,293.5 TRILLION, and WHY is the deficit for FY 2011 $1,600 TRILLION. At no time has the government revenue been DOWN even $400 billion due to the recession and for FY 2011 it projects to be down $85 billion from pre-recession receipts.

Sounds like wanton, irresponsible, unpatriotic spending to me.

    Fact:

Democrats swept the Congressional elections of 2006. In Jan 2007, those Democrats were seated in the House and the Senate. Giving Democrats control of CONGRESS from Jan 2007 until Jan 2011 when the Republicans that won the elections of 2010 were seated in the House of Representatives. The Democrats retain control of the Senate.

FY 2007 was the last FY where Republicans controlled the Budget. It ran from 10/01/2006 until 09/30/2007.
That was our $161 billion deficit.

Democrats controlled CONGRESS for FY 2008, and FY 2009. It should be clear to all after the recent debt ceiling 'crisis' that CONGRESS, not the president, controls spending. Only when the same party holds both Houses of Congress AND the WH does the president greatly influence spending.

The deficits by the Democrat controlled Congress for,
    FY 2008= $458 billion.
    FY 2009- $1,412 TRILLION.

Deficits with Democrats in control of both Houses of Congress
    FY 2010= $1,293.5 TRILLION.
    FY 2011= $1,600.0 TRILLION.

A graphic view of the money we are discussing.
