Well, instead of a yacht tax credit, why don't we have a "cheap car credit tax credit" and eliminate the yacht sales tax credit? Cheap cars generate 10's of thousands of jobs, far more than yachts, and then regular people can enjoy not paying taxes instead! I always find it fascinating how it is the wealthy who ACTUALLY get the tax credits, while the regular people get the shaft.
Here's the info on the NATIONAL yacht tax exemptions. The article is of the RghtWing complaining on how the Democrats want to be big meanies and "raise taxes" on the po widdle millionaires! Boohoo! http://www.sailfastchicago.com/site...-mike-quigley-vs-mortgage-interest-deduction/ Sonds pretty good. But here is the Right's respnse: Yeah, better keep yachts tax-free and Chevys taxed! Its the American way....
Yeah, you have to take a short car, boat or plane ride across the Mexican border in order to have your yacht parties for the first year. You can also dock in California for some time, so you are not exactly crippled. After the first year, you have no sales or personal property tax on your yacht. Unlike owning a Chevy, on which you will pay taxes WHENEVER you bring it in state permanently no matter how long ago you bought it.
That government isn't as important as government claims it is. I haven't voted for years. It hasn't made any difference to the crap in office.
Food Stamp Usage Across the Country The number of food stamp recipients has climbed by about 10 million over the past two years, resulting in a program that now feeds 1 in 8 Americans and nearly 1 in 4 children. It's just a shame for the U.S. an interactive map and statistics you see here http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2009/11/28/us/20091128-foodstamps.html
Ask them. What happened to your country? Perestroyka? But may be Mr. Gorbachev helps your government?
Why should Americans be ashamed of helping feed their less fortunate countrymen? We survived the Great Depression, we'll survive this recession...
Powerful country you have been, a powerful industry, a powerful scientific and technical potential. And all this is melting before our eyes. Even your allies laugh at you. Your Wall Street Prosrall ((*)(*)(*)(*) out) your country in the games, "Merger and Absorption"
The movement is spreading: http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/0,1518,791918,00.html Reportedly thousands of people demonstrated in front of the EZB in Frankfurt today and tens of thousands in various other German cities.
The banks have plenty of money-you bailed them out, remember, with your taxes. So why aren't they lending?
Perhaps they had their children in better economic circumstances. Did that not occur to you? Can you lend me that infallible crystal ball of yours so I can best judge when to procreate?
I'm talking about AmericansI.It's funny to watch when people try to think of the usual categories. .Nothing is eternal in this world. The holiday ends unexpectedly
So its the republicans fault that teen pregnancy is mainstream now? Your overdramaticism is noted. Kids can buy iphones but cant afford condoms...got it!
Shouldnt one be taking into account the fact good times never last when choosing to have kids? What ever happened to saving for a rainy day? Flatscreen Tvs,laptops and Ipods are much more important than a savings account.
Sure the kids can afford condoms, but the school they goto can't teach them how to use them cause that would go against the abstinence only education republicans favor.
I understood what you were getting at the first time around, EvilAztec. As I stated before, we went through worse during the Great Depression and came through alright. A temporary uptick in food stamp usage during a recession does not qualify as preordained Destiny.
Teach them how to use them? Isnt there a youtube vid for that? Arent the instructions on the packaging? In any case Im willing to bet liberalism is far more rampant in far more schools than this republican influence you seem to think dictates public school policy and curricula.
